Ninjas in Pyjamas have been crowned champions of the Mikz Challenge after thrashing dignitas 2-0 in the grand final of this two-day cup.
Three of Europe's strongest teams (since LDLC.com pulled out of the tournament due to DDoS attacks) took part in the cup, which was organised by fragbite together with Mikz, and battled it out for the 10,000 SEK (approximately €1,115) cheque.
In the first day of the tournament, Ninjas in Pyjamas sealed a place in the grand final after moving past fnatic 16-6 and then dignitas 2-1, with Philip "aizy" Aistrup drawing admiring glances for his stellar performance for the Danish giants.
Day two began with dignitas beating fnatic on just two maps, the second of which went to multiple overtimes, to set up a grudge match against NiP in the final.
However, the cup decider was a one-way street, with NiP walking out 2-0 winners while losing just 10 rounds in total. The Swedes played with Finn "karrigan" Andersen as a stand-in for Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg for most of the second map, de_inferno, which they won 16-9.
