fnatic have defeated NiP 2-0 (16-14 on de_train, 16-7 on de_dust2) to win the Swedish Championship at DreamHack Summer, better known as ESPORTSM 2013/2014. Their prize is 50,000 SEK (~$7,500), while NiP will take 20,000 SEK ($3,000).

In addition to the international tournament, DreamHack Summer also hosted the Swedish Championship called ESPORTSM with eight best local teams battling it out for 100,000 SEK.

After the quarter-finals and the semi-finals earlier today, fnatic and NiP remained to battled for the 50,000 SEK first place prize. The match was scheduled to be played in the DreamArena Extreme at 21:30 local time, but delays due to other tournaments prolonged the start all the way until 4 hours later.

Despite the late hour these two teams filled up the arena for the fourth time in a row since last year's DreamHack Summer, as they were featured in the final of the same tournament in 2013 (fnatic were known as Epsilon), as well as in the final of DH Summer and DH Winter.

fnatic back at the scene of crime from November 2013

The match started on de_train as Markus "pronax" Wallsten's squad took the early lead as CT, but NiP equalized to 3-3 right after they got the big guns. fnatic sprung into an 8-4 advantage then, only to see it melt once again as the half ended 8-7.

But Jesper "JW" Wecksell & co. then won the pistol and the first buy round, going up 13-7. NiP's SCAR20 and AWP combo brought them back in the game, but Wallsten and Andreas "schneider" Lindberg won a crucial 2-on-2 for 15-12.

NiP's two flawless rounds brought them to 15-14, but a good inner attack in the last round secured a 1-0 lead for fnatic.

NiP couldn't come back on de_train

The second map de_dust2 once again saw Wallsten's team start on the favored side, this time as T, and they quickly built up a big lead 9-2. Everything continued working for them and the score at the half ended up being a convincing 12-3.

Upon changing the sides, NiP begun their own small run, but it was interrupted by great play from Robin "flusha" Rönnquist, Lindberg and Wecksell who led fnatic to a 4 round run to close the game 16-7.

GG fnatic, you needed this win. As the casters said, if they would've lost this one the fnatic organisation most likely would think about kick/replace some of the players. But since they win this, they can feel calm for now :)
2014-06-16 03:24
Yeah, after bootcamping for a month and not making through groupstages, they still might need to take a good look at themselves.
2014-06-16 05:03
They lost on inferno twice against SK though, nip also lost to SK on inferno..
2014-06-16 10:09
Still fnatic trained for a month just for this event and SK was just supposed to be a decent mix/new team.
2014-06-17 17:01
roster change for fnatic still inevitable. cArn should ghost more on events or ghost through stream.
2014-06-16 03:24
Why NiP ;-; Was a good game though!
2014-06-16 03:24
"fnatic needs to change players" (c) hltv.org users yesterday
2014-06-16 03:24
so if nip wins dh will hltv just fall into a blackhole because neither team has to change players?
2014-06-16 03:27
Well either NiP or Titan will go out tomorrow so people will say that one of them has to change players
2014-06-16 03:33
NiP will demolish them, NBK, KennyS, HysokA, MaT & shox new Titan team
2014-06-16 10:01
you never fucking know
2014-06-16 03:34
Congratulations fnatic! They played great and especially pronax on dust2.
2014-06-16 03:25
gg, hard-earned skins ez lost
2014-06-16 03:27
Poorly organized shit. A best of 3 starting at past 1 AM, going on until just after 3 AM. NiP players won't be asleep until about 4:30 AM for sure, and they got Titan in a best of 3 in about 7.5 hours after that. I'm pretty confident NiP gave up when they realised they would have to go to a third map. DHS #1 Prize + ESPORT SM #2 Prize >> ESPORT SM #1

I love devil walk he is a nice guy honestly but every, single time i see these stat sheets hes ALWAYS in the negative even when he team won 2-0. I can link you to almost everytime this stats come up with fnatic that DevilWalk is negative. ): poor guy
2014-06-16 03:35
So what? As long as he is there that means everything in fnatic is going as it should, the mad fragers are doing their job, he's setting them up and so on. And he almost always does a fine job as ct, making a 2 frags on regular basis.

they are way too inconsistent and a lot of that is due in part to DevilWalk just not showing up as much as the other players
2014-06-16 03:53
Devilwalk's job is getting info, holding flanks, stopping small site pushes. JW/Schneider/Flusha job is making entries on the opposite side of the map with their raw ability. Who's to say which job is more important, not frag statistics, that's for sure.
2014-06-16 04:05
I would say flusha, and schneider were the ones whose frags were missing on DH... and jw overextended a couple of times like he always does.
2014-06-16 04:50
I dont do ecofrags ;=)

are you new on csgolounge? if you want things to go smooth, you have to do your bets few hours before the matches (unless you bet from your returns).

Expected. NIP still has DH matches, and fnatic had nothing to lose, they could use all the stats prepared for DH. Damn those lounge bots, I was trying to bet on fnatic but there was a 5 min break and then I couldn't bet anymore.

Doesn't help that the match was moved from 22:30 to 1 am. -_-
2014-06-16 08:57
that match should be resheduled for today , to play at 2 am is a joke. it`s not NIP`s fault .. so don`t blame them. bad organisation. They should play without stream at 23:30 or just let the fuckin starcraft final at 2 am. Not the CS:GO final , they gonna be sleepy and no really fresh to face titan , in a bo3.
2014-06-16 09:06
n1 fnatic but i just can't understand them, losing to SK (TWICE!!), then beating Nip.. srsly..
2014-06-16 09:14
As I said yesterday before the 1st map start... NiP's players were so fucking tired, the look on their face, they didn't want to play that game at all at that hour but what can you do :) They will win DHS 4sho.
2014-06-16 09:15

They won cause NIP had to play for DHS matches later on and they didn't even sleep, so it was expected, NIP didn't even put effort in the match.
