Caseking of the Hill with 14k€, ROF
A new series of online tournaments called Caseking of the Hill cooled by Alpenföhn with over 14,000€ in prizes has been announced.
Caseking of the Hill will last fourteen weeks, with a stand-alone King of the Hill tournament held once a week to determine that week's winner in the series.
First week there will be four participating teams in a single elimination best-of-three tournament. After the first king has been declared the format will change a little.
Anders and Semmler team up to host an online tournament
In the following weeks two teams will be invited, while the reigning champions get to come back until they are defeated in a best-of-three series in the weekly event.
Below is the full press release for Caseking of the Hill by Alpenföhn:
"Caseking CEO Toni Sonn is wholeheartedly convinced by the concept. Excited and euphoric, he awaits the beginning:
"In its eleventh year of existence, Caseking is, more than ever before, interested in taking eSports to the next level. Our idea and our aspiration to provide PC users, enthusiasts and, if nothing else, hardcore gamers with the optimal instruments for their passion on the one hand, along with grown collaborations with gaming portals, LAN events, trade fairs and our partners on the other hand, are the perfect basis for the next step. The time is ripe for something new, something sublime! With the "Caseking of the Hill" tournament series, featuring Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, we, together with BitFenix and Alpenföhn, provide for a multi-week highlight with renowned top teams, live streaming, professional casters, community votes and remarkable cash prizes. Our slogan "Hier ist nichts Standard" (Everything here is above the ordinary) has rarely been more accurate and lets me look at thrilling and top-class virtual battles with pride and anticipation."
"Also Thomas Würzer of Alpenföhn feels certain, that the whole tournament is going to be a complete success for all the participants: "In eSports, constant FPS can be of fundamental significance, even decisive on victory or defeat. Therefore, Alpenföhn cooling products have been the first choice of ambitious gamers for years. Uncompromising quality and the development of innovative technologies are our aspiration and incitement! Now it is time to return something to the community: Alpenföhn is proud to set a spectacular, 14-week CS:GO exclamation mark in cooperation with Caseking.de, hitherto never seen before in this form. We are looking forward to exciting games and gripping duels!"
"BitFenix, close partner of Caseking for years and likewise dedicated to eSports, expresses its great anticipation through Thomas Kuhlenbach: "Right from the beginning, BitFenix has had strong ties to eSports and, above all, to gamers themselves. With our products, we try to create optimal conditions for gamers, to let them have an influence on design and functionality according to their own wishes and to always implement new ideas. Compact cases, like the Prodigy with its handles or the lightweight Flo headset, thus count as perfect companions on LAN parties. The opportunity to be part of such a high-class event series, like the "Caseking of the Hill" tournament, is an honour for BitFenix and we are very pleased to cater for a veritable highlight in the CS:GO universe together with Caseking.de and the teams. May the games begin!"
"We have compiled all information about the "Caseking of the Hill" tournament, the raffle and additional info regarding our partners and their products on our special tournament site: http://www.caseking.de/csgo
"The live stream will be accessible during all the games of the tournament on Twitch.TV: http://www.twitch.tv/RoomOnFire"
Caseking of the Hill will feature a seven map pool with de_cache, de_dust2, de_inferno, de_mirage, de_nuke, de_season and de_train, instead of the new ESL map pool.
Casting the tournament will be the new Room On Fire duo of Anders Blume and Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat, the latter of whom also shared his thoughts:
"Anders and I are excited to announce our first tournament series after the launch of our rebrand from NiPGamingTV to Room on Fire. This tournament has been a long time coming, a goal that we set ourselves at the beginning of the year, and with the help of Caseking, it's finally become a reality! Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat told HLTV.org.
"This is the first project we've put together that is going to give top, and up-and-coming, teams more exposure, and a chance to earn good money on a weekly basis. In the coming weeks, we're going to make it possible for the community to vote in teams, so that on top of being able to tune in live, you'll have a hand in who's competing as well. We find out who will be our first Kings this wednesday night!"
The Room on Fire duo are also the people in charge of Caseking of the Hill by Alpenföhn. You can find more information on the event here, and Room On Fire's Twitch channel here.
