Na`Vi beat CPH Wolves

Na`Vi are the second team to progress from Group B following a 19-17 victory over CPH Wolves on de_dust2.

Na´Vi, who got off on the Terrorist side, attacked B in the pistol round and killed the CTs there, but a great retake from CPH Wolves ended with Finn "karrigan" Andersen getting three kills to give the Danes their first round of the match.

A mid push towards B from Na´Vi then caught CPH Wolves off-guard, but the Danish team responded immediately after and regained the lead after retaking the B bombsite. However, the Ukrainian team refused to let gone and levelled the score on two rounds, forcing CPH Wolves to go for a double eco.

The next gun round from both teams went to Na´Vi, who did a simple yet effective long-short split, with the Ukrainian team winning the following anti-eco round.

It looked like the ninth round would also go Na´Vi’s way after they got one kill in mid and one in A, but René "cajunb" Borg ruined their plans with a double kill in the tunnels. Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, who was left alone against three opponents, still took down two players before getting killed.

That did little in the way of upsetting Na´Vi, however, as the Ukrainian team regained control of the match and got four rounds in a row. The last two rounds of the half went to CPH Wolves, with Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander getting some important kills with the AWP.

GuardiaN was in sensational form

CPH Wolves came out strongly in the second half and saw Jacob "Pimp" Winneche get two entry frags in long. The remaining three Na´Vi players still tried to retake the A site, but with no success. The Danes followed this up with five more rounds, forcing Na´Vi to call a timeout.

That little break did wonders for the Ukrainian team, who strung three rounds together, forcing CPH Wolves to call a timeout of their own.

This time around, it was CPH Wolves who found themselves on the receiving end of a timeout win following a B split that stunned the two defenders in the site. The next round, however, went to Na´Vi, who retook the A site after a well-timed A split from the Danes.

CPH Wolves then attacked B, a move that, albeit effective, caused some serious damage to the two players inside the bombsite. cajunb, who was hidden by a smoke in the CT spawn, managed to catch GuardiaN from behind with a Desert Eagle before picking up the AWP and getting one more kill to make it 14-14.

It looked like CPH Wolves had this one in the bag after taking the 29th round with a B rush, but in the final round the Danes incredibly spurned a 3-on-2 situation in A with the bomb planted, allowing the game to go to overtime.

Despite losing the first round of overtime following a B attack from CPH Wolves, Na´Vi kept their cool and took the last two rounds of the half. An aggressive strategy from the Danes in the first round of the second half restored parity on 17 rounds, but some great AWP work from GuardiaN powered Na´Vi to get the final two rounds and secure a 19-17 victory.

guardian dropped a casual 30-bomb, he was definitely hitting shots lmao
2014-08-15 15:41
Keep in mind, they played 36 rounds and not a maximum of 30, so a 30-bomb isn't really impressive
2014-08-15 17:22
I have to say it's still impressive. Especially in this case, where it's 10 more frags than anyone else in the game.

Even when you hoped that, I'm pretty sure they would've gone out in the next match. Na`Vi is a huge threat vs top teams in bo3 and it's amazing to see them advance.

2014-08-15 15:25
the difference between this match and titan's one that c9 did a nice comeback but here Na'vi takes a round and then cph another round
2014-08-15 15:27
The difference is that there was a decisive match, when 1 team go home while in titan's match it was just battle for winners bracket

insane play by gla1ve & cajun, not only did pimp sell cajun on B sites every round as CT, he also missed a free frag on GuardiaN at 15-14, last but not least that flash from gla1ve in the mid to b where they were all flashed but.... in overtime. I really hope Nico starts putting some hours into the game, i saw 1-2 actions which maybe said he is a world class awp, when picking off 2 guys in lower tunnels, or his 1on5 try. but thats about it ! Hoping for dignitas to kick some ass!

Once again the danish arrogance is the reason of this loss.... Over and over, they choosed to challenge Guardian, who at this event, is close to perfection with his skill as awp'er. If the danes had kept just a slight of patience, this could easily had been a danish victory...
