nooky to retire after EPS Finals

mousesports veteran Andre "nooky" Utesch has announced that he will end his gaming career after the EPS Finals in Cologne.

Andre "nooky" Utesch is one of the most accomplished players in the German Counter-Strike scene, having been part of the mTw CS:Source team who won four EPS titles and also attended several international events.

Since switching to CS:GO, he has played for teams like mouz, Wild Fire and 3DMAX. Recently, he took charge of Germany's national team for the European Championship (ESEC).

nooky will hang up his mouse next month

In a statement to 99damage.de, Utesch says he wants to deliver some more magic and go out with a bang at his last event, which will be the EPS Finals on September 6, where mTw, Planetkey Dynamics and Playing Ducks will also be in attendance.

"I have decided to end my gaming career to devote my time to other aspects of my life,” he said.

"In recent weeks, I have increasingly noticed that it is unfortunately impossible to balance work, study, personal life and professional gaming over a very long period of time, so I will quit after the EPS Finals.

"I have had incredible experiences over the years, made many friends, met a lot people, had amazing games and events, and I can look back with pride on a variety of successes.

"I would like to specially thank Markus Frey and Lars Eiben for an unforgettable time and all of my fans who have supported me for years.

"I hope I will end my career with a victory at the EPS finals."

After the event in Cologne, Utesch will be replaced by Oliver "kzy" Heck, who has been playing for mouz in online matches for several weeks now.

With these changes, mouz's roster will look as follows:

Netherlands Chris "chrisJ" de Jong
Germany Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
Serbia Nikola "LEGIJA" Ninić
Finland Aleksi "allu" Jalli
Germany Oliver "kzy" Heck

Nooky has been a decent IGL for a long time. He took a lot of flak for being a somewhat poor individual player sometimes, but his sometimes he had some really great individual plays. I believe there was a time when he wasn't an IGL(?) and he definitely showed he had good fragging ability. One of the only consistent, long term players from Germany. GGWP.
2014-08-27 00:36
in my dreams kapio, tixo, roman & gob b return to gaming and ez top 3 team again :D 2bad all retired after 1.6 unlike the swedish pro scene for example
