fnatic destroy NiP to win CKoTH #7

fnatic have destroyed NiP 16-0 on de_dust2 and 16-7 on de_inferno to win the 7th edition of Caseking of the Hill.

The 7th edition of Caseking of the Hill cooled by Alpenföhn started with NiP, who won the previous two editions, on the throne. Their challengers this time were mousesports, who lost to them in CKoTH #5 final, and fnatic who hadn't taken a shot at the throne since the inaugural edition when they lost to LDLC in the semi-final.

mousesports were back to playing with Oliver "kzy" Heck as Andre "nooky" Utesch's retirement set into place after the team's 2nd place finish at EPS Germany Summer Finals, and they tackled fnatic whom they previously beat to win Hitbox Arena Championship 2.

In what ended up looking like a stroll, Markus "pronax" Wallsten led his squad to a convincing 2-0 victory (16-1 on de_dust2 and 16-6 on de_mirage) despite having to play the second map with Dennis "dennis" Edman as a stand-in for Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, who was under a DDoS attack.

With that win, fnatic had exacted revenge on mousesports for their loss in the Hitbox final, and after that it was time to meet NiP, who they also recently lost a final too, only at a much bigger stage – ESL One Cologne.

JW and co. have been in amazing form lately

And once again fnatic made their opponents look underwhelming, defeating NiP with an incredible scoreline of 16-0 on de_dust2 after a perfect CT side. Map two, de_inferno, wasn't much better for ESL One Cologne champions either, as fnatic took 10 rounds on the T side and the converted it into a 16-7 win.

According to our stats database which as of now contains 486 maps of NiP, this was the first 16-0 loss in their history.

Caseking of the Hill #7 cooled by Alpenföhn

1. Sweden fnatic – 750€
2. Sweden NiP – 250€
3. Germany mousesports

Fnatic also defeated Virtus.pro 3-0 yesterday in CS:GO Legends Series #2, so now they will be both "legends" and "kings" at least until next week.

he was kinda bad even after first CLG organised by e-frag, i think that is the name. But he was such important role at ESL Cologne that i cant say anything bad about him. He will come back stronger than ever! Btw. i wanted to reply this to guy down to you, sorry!
2014-09-10 09:08
YOU FORGOT TO SAY "STRONG ONLINE" i bet that they will not win the next lan 99%! What the point for Nip to fight for this game? To show their tactics... I'm sure that if Nip and fnatic will meet on the next lan nip will win!
2014-09-10 12:37
Oh, I certainly still rate NiP as #1, but when is the next big LAN event anyway? Not sure NiP would be saving strats quite yet. Fnatic are playing extremely well right now, it seems that the roster changes have strengthened them to something beyond the sum of their parts.
2014-09-10 15:04
Fnatic and NiP will play LAN 25 - 26 i think DH Stockholm

2014-09-10 03:36
NIP need changes... They won ESL one but still unconvincing play from them... I guess they lack motivation... They should change Fify... Jw destroyed them with awp and cz... NIP need AWP!
2014-09-10 03:36
2nd 2nd 1st sucks they should kick everyone
2014-09-10 03:40
ESL was like the peak + luck + other teams playing bad for them to win, and they just beat fnatic who is on the rise after only a month really playing together, so yes they need a change, it's amazing how long there line up has lasted really, but all good things come to an end. Heaton of all people should know this and he should do whats best for his organisation and let someone go for the better. They are all too comfortable and when you are too comfortable you start to lose a lot. But hey "they won ESL" lol. How long is that going to be said.
2014-09-10 03:50
untill dhw group stage out :D
2014-09-10 04:06
This exactly. Also, the longer they put off the roster change, the more they are holding themselves back. They would be a stronger team now if they had introduced a new player some months ago.
2014-09-10 12:52
oh this fanboy ... hello Fnatic
2014-09-10 14:42
i'm been realistic, I have always been a fan of fnatic, when they got destroyed when they were shit, and I knew they were shit, when they had to cut players from the beginning of fnatic.. But now I can be proud of where they are at because they are the fnatic everyone feared in 1.6 all those years ago. It's not about been a fanboy.. It's just happyness :)
2014-09-10 14:47
Fnatic won DH winter and started sucking hard afterwards. Just like the current Nip, won ESL and start sucking
2014-09-10 04:03
Following that path, NiP should make a roster change - as Fnatic did.
2014-09-10 04:55
"with huge regrets we announce fifflaren's departure" #BELIEVE
2014-09-10 07:39
Nip won esl one cologne with pure luck. Atleast against cloud9 and ldlc. Wasnt it for cobblestone cloud9 would have won that series and maybe the whole event. Need lack motivation/changes and we all know that their results are weak. Quarter exit at gifinty, with huge luck won esl one and now a total rape from fnatic with their first 16-0. Something has to be changed.. their gamestyle, their tactics, their motivation/training.. Goodluck in the future nip.

with pure luck? are you retarded? and how would you know if nip wouldnt have their best game ever if it was some other map? boom! pls stfu, but yeah they need to remove fifflaren, he is good yes, but not on the same level as the others
2014-09-10 08:59
You dont win a major event on pure luck. Stop with this nonsense already. JeeZ!
2014-09-10 09:22
You do when the map selection is luck based and the maps are absolute shit.
2014-09-10 10:51
The LAST map for ESL is random. NOT the first two maps
2014-09-10 11:19
luck based? They vetoed the maps they didnt want to play, and picked one map each, the 3rd map was a random draw. How can that be luck based? each team has the option to veto the map they stink on.
2014-09-10 12:37
If the third map wasn't Cobblestone BOTH times versus C9 and LDLC, NiP would go home.
2014-09-10 14:10
That might be your opinion, but not mine:) If teams didnt want to play cbble versus NiP they could have vetoed it, so that map pool excuse wont stick with me:) NiP are a great team, and the level of competition we saw at Cologne might have been at the highest level so far in csgo history. So to win an event like that you have to be a great team. I'm not gonna make a big debate over this because its pretty much pointless. Just sharing my own opinions:)
2014-09-10 14:23
Of course they could have vetoed it, but you're forgetting the fact that they vetoed 2 other maps that they felt they couldn't beat NiP in. So, the last map is being chosen randomly and it somehow managed to be Cobblestone both times.
2014-09-10 14:24
i said this during ESL - Forest is a great rifler and good back up awper, but the current game really requires an AWP specialist.

2014-09-10 04:10
Didn't deserve the cologne win? Are you fucking retarded? They fought bloody hard to get the win in cologne, whether people say they played up to the "NiP standard" or not. The fact that fnatic smashed them here doesn't prove anything other than that this new fnatic lineup has a lot of potential. NiP have always been fairly lackluster online in comparison to other top5 teams.

so its the same that Fnatic didnt deserve to win DHW a year a go or two was it ? when they beat nip on the last map train 16-3 or something, that they didnt deserve it because nip won like 99/100 times they played that year:P

Was not this fnatic who won the first major... Olof and Krimz have never won a major.
2014-09-10 15:14
Yup, but olofm + krimz > schneider + devilwalk. New fnatic > old fnatic.

Yes, but i think olofm + schneider > olofm + krimz
2014-09-10 17:54
I also thought so in the beginning, but krimz has been playing incredibly well as of late. Likely to be one of the top 20 players of this year, quite frankly.

I agree with you, fnatic has been really strong and are probably going to continue that for atleast a month or two before all the other teams has caught up on their playstyle and what not. Altough I am very confident NiP is not near their potential and I don't even think they care too much about these kinds of games. Therefore the lack of mindset.
