Energy eSports invited for ESWC

The ESWC organisers have announced that South African side Energy eSports have been invited to attend the upcoming world finals.

Energy eSports have become the latest side to receive an invitation to attend the ESWC finals, where they will be joined by another team from Africa, the winner of the Algerian qualifier.

Formerly known as c7e, the South African side made history when they won the first CS:GO tournament in the country, Telkom Do Gaming Insta-Clash Cup November 2013, following a 3-2 victory over Eternal Conflict in the final.

James "zerOchaNce" Wijnberg's side will take the spot that had initially been allocated to Bahrain, which will no longer organise a qualifier for the French event.

Energy eSports will attend the ESWC finals with:

South Africa Thulani "LighteRTZ" Sishi
South Africa James "zerOchaNce" Wijnberg
South Africa Ruan "ELUSIVE" van Wyk
South Africa Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen
South Africa Ashton "Golz" Muller

this is really starting to look like a world championship! great to see and I hope ESWC will support travel costs so all teams indeed can attend. what's up with vox eminor, btw?

they have not money to pay the trip, btw they were invited, but declined
2014-09-26 15:15
Games Academy had to use their own money to cover the travel costs to Europe, so I doubt ESWC supports travel costs.
2014-09-26 20:54
Good event but I miss Korean and Australin slot. I hope next year more natíonal qualifiers. good luck

Where the fuck is Malaysia/Singapore ?
2014-09-26 15:37
1 reply
Seriously how can there be no SE Asian csgo qualifier. But there is one for "Bahrain" or "S Africa". Singapore/Malaysia are mad for online games. Back in the day there was FMJ Invictus and GBR Grudge. GBR played in the CPL, WCG. And there were Malaysian and Singapore teams in the CGS.
2014-09-27 04:29
No UK? :(

Haha you have to be shitting me? Except that you are the most dire people to come across after the russians you guys have no stable CSGO community. The Lone Rangers are just another high team out there. They would be eaten by the European semi and elite teams... And dont take this offensive. Just facts.

They would be eaten by the European semi and elite teams... so would anyone outside EU/NA. Besides, UK is EU.

Vox Eminor proved them self to have what it takes to fight the top semis in the world. Yes so what if its bart of the European Union and continent? It still dosent stop the other European teams to eat them? You should like add a quota of how much shit you people should smoke before trying to be smart...
2014-09-28 14:47
If we never get the opportunity, we won't be able to prove ourselves though.
