myXMG add Friis, smF

myXMG have announced that they have completed their squad with the additions of Michael "Friis" Jørgensen and Danni "smF" Dyg.

Both players had been filling in for myXMG for the last couple of weeks after the team parted company with three of their players while recruiting Asger "AcilioN" Larsen, formerly of NO SIR!.

With these two stand-ins, myXMG acquitted themselves really well in the online qualifier for DreamHack Winter, falling at the final hurdle as they were down 0-2 by HellRaisers in the grand final of the last-chance qualifier.

Friis signs for myXMG

It has now been announced that both players have joined myXMG on a permanent basis as the team prepare for the first LAN events of 2015 and the upcoming online leagues.

"We tried to play with friis and smF in the Dreamhack qualifier and it just felt right," said Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen.

"Everyone could adapt, think for themselves and just play good as a team and individual.

"Even though we did not qualify and finished sixth after losing to LDLC and Hellraisers, we still all wanted to make this team, since we played really well together."

myXMG now have the following lineup:

Denmark Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen
Denmark Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen
Denmark Asger "AcilioN" Larsen
Denmark Michael "Friis" Jørgensen
Denmark Danni "smF" Dyg

I feel like this is kind of a lottery ticket.. it can be massive and it can be the same story all over again like we saw trace/friis in fnatic. Back in the mid/late 1.6 days, friis was tied with marik for the top sniper spot. I will never forget those TCM gaming times where friis solely stomped everything and how he could close down tuscan like it was his own backyard. This is history now, but i would love to see friis return to this level in csgo. Absolutely one of my all time Favorites.

It's not different, it's random trash. You even see kennyS/guardian miss those easy shots because you can't always rely on that quick flick, the "quickscope" is so inconsistent and you can't always time that perfectly. Guardian and kenny are the ones who come REALLY close but they still aren't 100% perfect with it. Add 1.6 quickscope and CSGO could become really interesting, funny thing is even in 1.6 it still wasn't as easy, you saw pros do those sick shots but only because they had skill with it, not everyone did.

Agreed. Not even quick scoping would be enough, it needs the movement to go with it.

2014-11-03 23:05
Your argument states that they only had the talent for one game. Which of course is utterly bullshit. It is the worst argument ever and a shitty generalization. The reason to why most might be struggling is that they are getting older, which slows the reaction time and that they don't prioritize being the best, because there now is other things in life and they don't have all the time in the world for practicing as they used to. Also, it is still a "new" game and everyone doesn't learn as quickly or adjust - though that properly won't count for most former top players.

Where in my "argument" did I state they only had the talent for one game? Are you drunk or something? Firstly, I'm just stating a fact, not building a scientific argument, calm down. And secondly, ofcourse the game they are playing affects their level. You can hardly say its their age? Both Karrigan and Friis were in their peek prior to the release of GO. Karrigan however, like Neo, was very movement orientated with his gameplay, and thus the difference in the movement system is probably the key factor in why his, and Neos level isn't up to their former 1.6 level. That doesn't mean they only have talent in 1 game, but 1.6 in particular suited their strengths more, and allowed those different play styles.

In TCM gaming friis AWP was probably at its peak, in fnatic it was good but I swear I never saw a better performance from him especially on de_train with TCM. HE WAS FUCKING NUTS.
