Team ALTERNATE have announced that they have cut ties with Simon "smn" Beck following the player's cheating incident on ESEA.
The German community woke up to the news that ALTERNATE's Simon "smn" Beck, formerly of n!faculty, had been banned on ESEA for a year after being caught cheating by the company's game client.
With ALTERNATE due to attend the EPS Finals, in Cologne, in less than a month, the news immediately led to speculation surrounding smn's future on the team.
smn's protest was quickly closed
HLTV.org knows that smn had prepared a statement in which he professed his innocence in this case and revealed that he had appealed against the decision.
However, such protest was quickly closed by ESEA, which resulted in ALTERNATE removing the player from the team with immediate effect.
"After we initially waited for an apeal, we must now assume that smn used cheats in his role as a player for Team ALTERNATE," a statement from ALTERNATE reads.
"Of course, this goes against everything that Team ALTERNATE wants to stand for, so we would like to apologise to our opponents, our fans and the CS:GO community for the behavior of the player.
"Moreover, the player will, of course, be removed with immediate effect from the lineup, and ALTERNATE also reserves the right to take further legal steps due his defamatory conduct."
