Na`Vi see off dignitas
Natus Vincere have progressed to the semi-finals at DreamHack Winter with a 2-0 victory over dignitas (16-3 on de_cobblestone and 16-13 on de_mirage).
The first map of the series was de_cobblestone, where Na`Vi got to start on the heavily-favoured CT side. Without too much surprise, the Ukrainian team came out the brighter and won the opening two rounds of the half fairly easily. dignitas were on the verge of winning the third round after getting a couple of trade kills early on, but they ultimately ran out of time to plant the bomb.
The next gun round from both teams then went the way of dignitas, who, however, failed to continue on a winning path, thanks to double kills from Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko and Denis "seized" Kostin.
Na`Vi continued picking up round after round until and eventually took an eight-round lead at 9-1. Then Nicolai "device" Reedtz won a 1-on-2 situation in B to keep his side in the game, but that did little to bother the Ukrainians, who went into the second half up 12-3.
The second half was pretty straightfoward as Na`Vi did not give dignitas any chance, securing the opening four rounds to run out 16-3 winners on the Danish team's own choice of map.
Zeus had a 1.90 rating on de_cobblestone
Determined to prove they were done choking in the big stages, dignitas got off to a flying start on de_mirage and strolled to a comfortable ten-round lead early in the game, with Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen getting a number of important AWP kills early during rounds to put his team in advantage.
Despite the huge deficit, Na`Vi remained calm and collected, which allowed them to take three rounds before the end of the half to keep their hopes alive.
After the break, Na`Vi, who were now playing on the CT side, gave a much better account of themselves and got a foothold in the game as they won eight rounds in succession to reduce the deficit to 11-12. Double kills from Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and René "cajunb" Borg in A with the bomb planted then saw dignitas enlarge their lead, but a triple frag from Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács restored Na`Vi's confidence and powered the Ukrainian team to seal a 16-13 win.
