ESEA S17 Finals viewer's guide

The ESEA Invite Season 17 Global Finals will start in less than eight hours with the All-Stars match, take a look at the viewer's guide if you're wondering when your favourite teams play.

Eight teams were drawn into a double elimination best-of-three bracket as usual, with four coming from Europe and four from North America. Before that though, some of the stars from each team will be seen during the All-Stars match, which will kick off the action in Dallas, TX.

iBUYPOWER are the back-to-back reigning champions, as they came out on top of seasons 15 and 16, who will try to get a hold of a share of the $47,000 prizepool split between all eight teams as shown below.

1. $20,000
2. $6,000
3. $4,500
4. $4,000
5-6. $3,500
7-8. $3,000

Don't forget that the map pool is different to what we're used to from tournaments held in Europe, as we can see Season and Train on the list instead of Overpass and Cobblestone.

Veto system also isn't quite the same in comparison with other organizations' systems, ESEA uses the 1-2-1 veto process, which works as follows:

1. Away team removes one map
2. Home team removes two maps
3. Away team removes one map
4. Home team picks map one, away team picks the side
5. Away team picks map two, home team picks the side
6. Remaining map is map three, home team picks the side

Take a look at the full schedule of the tournament below:

2014-12-05 21:48
I think NA tournaments should be played early, and EU tournaments should be played late. That way both sides of the Atlantic could watch and they would maximise viewership.
2014-12-05 18:25
yeah but those tournaments cant be hosted in uk nor sweden cause they have police hours after 8 pm :/
2014-12-05 18:59
what are police hours? sounds like something out of V for Vendetta. "anyone caught out after curfew will be shot on sight."
2014-12-06 00:00
if u d be smarter u d know curfew is/was not so long time ago i europe
2014-12-06 00:09
2014-12-05 18:48
what? considering it's a murican event, it's EXCEPTIONALLY good. Only the first batch of matches is played in the night, the rest is in the evening for Europeans. I'd argue they have it as good as Americans overall.
2014-12-05 17:21
Oh I'm sorry it's not Dreamhack that starts at 5AM in the US.
2014-12-05 17:36

2014-12-05 17:50
it was great as a map but still way too ct sided
2014-12-05 18:11
If you had good T, you could make more rounds than CT. Like mTw or fnatic. Neo&co. had best train CT but I'm not sure about T.
2014-12-05 19:06
Sure but it was still too CT sided, million time better than the CSGO train tho

2014-12-05 16:09
You do realize it's pretty much the same time it was for US (reversed of course) when DHW was on, right?
2014-12-05 18:25

2014-12-05 19:30
Good to know you're such an ignorant troll, try harder next time.
2014-12-05 19:48

2014-12-05 23:04
Im pretty sure that its only fair. In my timezone the DHW games started at 2 am my time.
2014-12-05 19:58
but we are europe, we are best, most important, times should be according to our timezones not some redneck retards...
2014-12-05 20:07

2014-12-05 21:07
bro cmon, dont pretend as if u dont know what i mean. you know eu is above na. Only reason we are still friends with u is because of us army stronk, but ure cuntry? Too many retards, even in canada. Too many redneck tards.
2014-12-05 21:43

2014-12-05 16:18
what does 2xBO3 mean? they will play BO3 and second BO3?
2014-12-05 16:20
yes upper bracket winner has one bo3 advantage
2014-12-05 16:27
the team that comes from the upper bracket will have to win only one BO3..while the team coming from the lower bracket will have to win two BO3 to win the final.

Something tells me fnatic is gonna wipe the floor with all the amerifats and eurobads. Only VP will put up a decent fight
2014-12-05 17:31
2014-12-05 17:39
well this will basically consist of fnatic destroying everybody, and the virtus.plow coming in 2nd.

TRAIN, Season??? RIP CS GO
2014-12-05 19:40
I love how big of a prize difference there is from 1st and 2nd place. I think 2nd place should be 10,000 and 7-8 place finishers should get 1,000.
2014-12-05 19:40
nah you either win big or go home with nothing
2014-12-05 19:59
brings out the best performances of the players. closer the money is clumped together, the less that's on the line. complacent play can't be entertaining.
2014-12-06 00:55
2014-12-05 19:49
and everyone will vote train and nuke/season.
2014-12-05 19:52
way too few tournament nowadays bo3 double elimination like this, which is one of the best if not the best format even for the larger events
2014-12-05 19:57

2014-12-05 20:00
