adreN to Denial

In tandem with the news of [p,7810]'s departure to Cloud9, Denial have added [p,7433] to their lineup.

Last seen representing iBUYPOWER as a standin for the ESEA S17 LAN Finals, and a previous player for organisations such as Curse and Team Dynamic, Eric "adreN" Hoag will fill out Denial's lineup as their fifth member.

The news was confirmed by adreN himself via Tweet and could also be evinced in Denial's new roster on CEVO.

adreN returns to fulltime professional play

Denial player Damian "daps" Steele had this to say about the addition:

"It is unfortunate that another one of our players has been taken by Cloud9 and iBP once we have some form of success or progression (with the first time being nitr0). However, I am confident that we will be just as good if not better with adreN on our team.

adreN will be taking the role of ShahZaM as our main awper, but he also gives our team a secondary caller for the first time since montE was on our roster at the start of ESEA last season. I have no hard feelings towards ShahZaM as pretty much everyone would take the offer that they gave him and I wish him and his team the best," said Steele.

With this respective change in mind, Denial's lineup now stands as follows:

United States Todd "anger" Williams
Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic
United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
Canada Damian "daps" Steele
United States Eric "adreN" Hoag

Since adreN stepped down from iBUYPOWER earlier this year due to the time commitment of professional play, this change may indicate adreN's ability to commit fully to the game once again.

They have a terrible way of breaking a story "as good if not better with adreN.." Basically dissed Shahzam. Learn 2 break news
2014-12-15 09:31
Not really. They didn't say something like "now we finally have a good awper." Shahzam may be a better awper than adreN, but adreN is a pretty sick awper and he has calling experience and he can fill rifling/lurking roles better when the team can't afford an awp.

2014-12-15 06:26
No, he's not fully committing lol. If he wanted he could easily get on an actual pro team. Other than C9 and iBP the rest of the teams are just teams that play online seasons and hope to make LAN finals. iBP and C9 get invited to offshore LANs and such. He will just go to the Cevo LAN Finals if they make that, ESEA LAN Finals if they make that. If he wanted to he could have easily stayed on iBP and not quit his job, he wasn't underperforming. Actually adren in for Ska wouldn't be a bad move, but he still has his job and gf.

My guess is that he joined them to play the mlg qualifier, if they wont make it i doubt he will stick for a long time

2014-12-15 06:28
obviously his fulltime job will likely limit his ability to travel internationally, so I prefaced it with "may indicate," but I still view joining Denial as a step-up from playing for a mix like TST

Didn't anger underperform pretty badly? He also seemed like a bad teammate from what I could hear during their TST matches.

2014-12-15 14:42
So is this going to keep happening in America/Canada? One team is up and coming to actually be great then the bigger sponsors just cuts a player and steals yours? This is why you need better sponsors for teams over here so they can't just steal all the players from teams that can't afford to keep their good lineups.
2014-12-15 07:34
money is important... cloud9 pays better
2014-12-15 11:12
We don't know how well Denial are selling themselves to sponsors. I mean, sure, part of it comes down to having the talent. But you have to be a good salesmen to convince sponsors to let you carry their banner.

For me adreN is the biggest mind in NA, this can end up being a bigger win for denial than for C9 if he can practice enough (he stepped down because of his work)
2014-12-15 09:22
adreN is a good player for Denial, but C9 replacing Hiko with Shahzam seems like a weak decision.

2014-12-15 19:55
This is definitely a plus for Denial. adreN has been flying under the radar most of the year since stepping down. He brings a lot of experience and positivity to the team. Oh yeah, and the guy has got the skills. He removed more accomplishments but adreN's resume is nothing to dismiss as a 9 time ESEA Invite LAN Champ. IMHO his TST was already a top 4/5 NA team even though slotted in ESEA Premier. Eric and Todd already have a chemistry that Denial will immediately benefit from. If he is really recommitting himself to topping the CSGO scene, it will only be a plus for Denial, as well as the entire NA CSGO scene. Gl hf to all and congrats again to the hoagsta!
2014-12-16 00:58
