Warden joins Liquid as coach

eLevate have announced that Matt "Warden" Dickens has joined Team Liquid as coach.

The North American veteran had recently stepped down from eLevate's active roster and become the team's coach as Daniel "roca" Gustaferri and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski were both added to the squad.

Just a week later, Matt "Warden" Dickens has joined Team Liquid's roster on both CEVO and ESEA, with eLevate confirming the move on Twitter.

Team Liquid, who suffered last night their first defeat in CEVO-P, an 8-16 loss against Cloud9, will attend Clutch Con in Denver later this month.

The team's roster stands as follows:

Canada Damian "daps" Steele
United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
United States Eric "adreN" Hoag
Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic
United States Nick "nitr0" Cannella

United States Matt "Warden" Dickens (coach)

coachs is the next step to Counter-strike professional scene like happened in LoL.
2015-01-15 10:14
The future is having a coach calling strats mid game, while you can have 5 players fully focused on their play and without having to suffer with a mediocre player=good igl.

Last time I heard him cast he knew a bunch about the game and what went wrong, aswell as predicting right on lots of stuff. The guy clearly has knowledge of the game, I can understand the coach position. Let's not compare him playing vs him coaching, because there is a difference. A player doesn't have to be good mechanically, to be able to coach the game, as long as he is capable of it. Best of luck.

he has tons of experience from playing 1.6 and CSS, that's really enough to be a sucessful coach
2015-01-15 15:28
plus he was really good in 1.6 when he was in his prime, so no1 should really be able to take that away from him...
2015-01-15 16:36
Who did he pay to get this article up?

warden as a coach could actually bring something to the table with his experience atleast to me he can or should be able to.
2015-01-15 16:39
they need more than that if they want to compete against tier 3 EU teams.

2015-01-15 19:24
Warden coaching? this team gonna be obese in no time
2015-01-15 20:30
I don't think there has been any proven benefit to having a coach in this game.
2015-01-15 20:59
meh, pita helped nip at cologne maybe a little bit? I agree though because unless the coach is there during every scrim and practice whats the fuckin point.
2015-01-15 23:09
Should have hired MOE
2015-01-16 01:04
Am I the only one who thinks its strange for an old school 1.6er to coach a team of sourcers? I have a feeling they won't see eye to eye.
2015-01-16 03:22
I think they're getting a bit ahead of themselves bringing in a coach when they're likely to undergo a roster change when met with a slue of easily avoidable losses. daps doesn't bring anything of worth, I vote him out.
2015-01-16 03:27
LOL. Warden trolling the team in their ears won't make the team better, not to mention he will destroy Liquid's food budget when going to events.
2015-01-16 05:04
n1
2015-01-16 06:34
its impossible in a game like counter strike for an outsider to call strats properly like you guys want them to. He might remind them of plays they have, suggest plays and stuff but DURING the rounds, during the game, its IMPOSSIBLE for a coach to look at all screens, all timers of all players and come up with a beneficial tactic for his team. It's not doable. Not in CS, this isnt LoL.
2015-01-19 05:01
warden is a bwas tho
