F3 ease past PiTER to reach major
FlipSid3 Tactics have booked their place at ESL One Katowice following a convincing 16-3 thrashing of PiTER on de_mirage.
In a match between two CIS teams who went into this event with stand-ins, it was PiTER who claimed bragging rights first thanks to a straight B push in the pistol round, with Jan "wayLander" Rahkonen getting three frags.
After winning the first anti-eco round, PiTER then fell short in the third round, which came as a huge blow to their economy. Despite a number of close rounds, the Russian team could not prevent FlipSid3 from embarking on a nine-round winning streak.
FlipSid3 Tactics secure a place at the upcoming major
With the scoreline 9-2 in favour of FlipSid3, PiTER finally managed to get back to winning ways, but their recovery was short-lived as Georgi "WorldEdit" Yaskin picked up four kills in connector and then one more in A to put his side again in control. The following two rounds also went the way of FlipSid3, who were sitting on a comfortable 12-3 lead at the end of the half.
Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy’s men entered the second half determined to wrap things up quickly, and PiTER found themselves powerless to counter their opponents as the Ukrainian side ran out 16-3 winners.
