EnVyUs beat NiP to win Gfinity

EnVyUs won Gfinity Spring Masters 1 following a 3-1 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas (14-16 on de_inferno, 16-5 on de_cache, 16-11 on de_dust2 and 16-9 on de_cobblestone).

The first map of this best-of-five series was de_inferno, where NiP got off to a great start by winning the opening five rounds. EnVyUs then embarked on a winning streak that lasted until the very last round of the half, which went NiP's way.

For most of the second half, it was neck-and-neck as neither side were able to stamp their authority on the match. After taking a 14-13 lead, NiP looked to be on the verge of winning the map, but a Tec-9 push from the Frenchmen in middle restored parity and forced the Swedish side to go on a force buy.

NiP were still able to win the round to bring the score to 15-14, when Adam "friberg" Friberg hammered the final nail into EnVyUs' coffin with a triple kill in B.

friberg had some crucial rounds on de_inferno

Both teams then moved on to de_cache, where NiP were completely slaughetered during the early stages of the game, when they found themselves down 0-10. The Swedish team still managed to respond before the break and picked up a few rounds of their own, but a 4-11 deficit meant that they had to give a much better account of themselves in the second half.

But such plans were then thrown into chaos as Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt got four kills to his name in the pistol round. One round in gun play was all that NiP were able to get, as EnVyUs equalised the series thanks to an impressive 16-5 victory.

NBK turned up the heat on de_cache

The map that followed was de_dust2, NiP's choice. But it was EnVyUs who came out the better by winning the opening three rounds of the half. The two teams then traded rounds for a while until the last third of the half, when NiP picked up two rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to 7-5.

Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey then broke NiP's streak with a 1v2 clutch in A, but the Swedish team still got the last round of the half, which they closed out at 8-7.

EnVyUs won the opening three rounds of the second half, but they were forced to call a timeout soon after as NiP picked up the first gun round. Still, the Frenchmen slowly found their feet and started gaining ground on their opponents little by little until they ran out 16-11 winners.

kioShima turned in a great display on dust2

It all came down to de_cobblestone, where NiP, who began on the offensive side of the map, picked up a narrow 8-7 lead at the end of the first half. As CT, Richard "Xizt" Landström's men found themselves completely helpless to stop EnVyUs' attacks, and so the French side cruised to a 16-9 win to seal a 3-1 victory in the series and get their hands on the $25,000 cheque.

2015-03-23 00:14
You are a big fucking retard. also they won DHS, CPHG, dh invitational on the spring, cologne and finals to both katowice and DHW.
2015-03-23 00:13
Finland coswell
Having a bad patch after a big win: It happens. If you really think it was "pure luck", then you must be as dumb as you sound.
2015-03-23 07:30
"What did NiP won last year? NOTHING?" Nip had several titles in 2014 (CPH Games, DH Summer, ESL Cologne, and one or two minor events). They also had many finals (two at a major). This year they already have 3 finals (one at a major) and 1 title. LDLC/nV are a quite successful team, but their achievements are on par with NiP's at the moment. We could even argue that NiP fared a bit better since they performed better when it mattered the most (Katowice). Achievements are not only about wins. And you should also try to follow the scene a bit better before spouting nonsense.
2015-03-23 00:08
It was a joke obviously, but thanks for the unnecessary in-depth story anyways.

nV vs NiP since dreamhack 7 maps won, one lost the fuck§ 7-1 BRBRBRBR
2015-03-22 23:32
nV wins 5 BO3s against NiP most important tournament -> get rekt by NiP nV wins 2 BO3s 1 BO5 against NiP right afterwards way to perform when it counts nV! But yeah, they did at least beat them at one major...
2015-03-22 23:40
Katowice was as important as DHW 2014. The only small edge Katowice had was that it was to decide which champions would be crowned twice, but that's a detail. In terms of head-to-head nV have a clear advantage, no matter how you look at it.
2015-03-23 00:13
Well, it had a million viewers, and the stadium and all. Dunno what happened to nV there. It really must be the NiP "magic" then. How can you be 0-5 against someone in last played matches, beat them at the major and then go on to lose again 3 times in a row? Either that or nV choked. Hopefully nV keeps the level up and evolving until ESL One in August.
2015-03-23 00:48
NiP has proved numerous times that they feed on hugely pressured events, and nV seemed shaky at Katowice over-all (should have gone 2-0 vs Na'Vi and should have lost less rounds to Titan). It happens. As for the online results, it's always good to take them with a pinch of salt.

"Both teams then moved on to de_cache" Has it ever happened that one team went to one may and the other team went to another map?
2015-03-22 23:36
yes, esl cologne 2015 finals were fnatic vs envyus. fnatic moved to play cache as final map but envy somehow ended up in inferno. both wonnered their maps 16-0 and game was tied and they shared the pricemoney.

Well NV beat them at 5 times on lan already...even at a major...NIP could not handle the pressure last time lol...f0rest choked on overpass :) NIP just cant handle nv and its a fact...nv has lost 1 bo3 to NIP and won like 8 or 10...with 5 on lan.
2015-03-23 20:33
if you consider the mini-comeback of nip against fnatic in last map in katowice. you'll know that nip does bring their best when it's necessary.

looks like Nip could use some help from Fetish. I don't think Pita has too much impact on the improvement of their game. They should try Fetish if danish is not a huge language barrier. Fetish just has such a good knowledge about how to set up the CT defense.

2015-03-23 00:07
They destroyed them with Happy at -5, it could have been way worse :D
2015-03-23 00:14
The problem with NiP is their CT side. They rely too much on pure aim. They go into fights thinking I dont need back up from my mates. So often they get picked one by one without trades. They cant get counter flashed by mates etc. On T side you can play like that, but not CT. You saw many rounds nV just rushed them because there was only one guy they had to take care of.

That is so false, f0rest is not only playing for money. And if he would, he would never say anything like that, big stupid lie. You can just look at interview with fragbite where he talks about why he are playing CSGO, and it's not like you are saying. The "guy" you know is full of shit.

"for the money" is something I'd say if I give a shit about the person asking.

where are all allu haters?

Allu did good, but the stats are not showing everything. Allu had a lot of less impact kills, and no I do not want allu out of NiP. He is good for them, the only thing I can see being the problem is the language. If that even is a problem.

Can't edit my commen apparently, something that have came up recently. I would put GT and Xizt over allu, but allu still did a good game. The problem was just how NiP played together, not really on any player

Sweden ixus
Pretty funny how Thorin's system of "Majors doesn't matter, becouse fnatic didn't win any last year" suddenly changes when fnatic wins the major, but plays 50 / 50 % on other lans and doesn't even attend most of them. Suddenly only majors count :) Pretty funny. If NiP or NV win next major, its gonna be back to "Majors is nothing, we cant judge best team becouse of majors. Fnatic won 2000 Dollars in Bremen open.... So they still are the best.
