NiP see off Titan in StarSeries

Ninjas in Pyjamas have progressed to the SLTV StarSeries XII Upper Bracket semi-finals following a 2-0 victory against Titan (25-22 on de_cache and 16-11 on de_dust2).

The first match of the StarSeries XII offline finals, taking place at the Kiev Cybersport Arena, in Kiev, featured two teams who are at opposite ends of a spectrum: NiP, who came into this event on the back of a runner-up finish at ESL One Katowice, and Titan, who went out at the Polish major after two defeats.

It was thus with hope, rather than expectation, that Titan approached this match, and they relied on an in-form Dan "apEX" Madesclaire to prevent NiP from running riot during the first map of the series. But what they did not expect was Aleksi "allu" Jalli to produce such a dominant display, with the Finnish star's 1.31 rating powering his team to a close 25-22 victory.

allu was the man of the match

Next up came de_dust2, where Titan came out the brighter and won nine rounds as Terrorists thanks to some spectacular AWP work from Kenny "kennyS" Schrub. But as soon as the second half started the game made a 180-degree turn as Titan found themselves helpless to stop NiP's attacks, and so the Swedish team quickly secured the ten rounds they needed to win the map and close out the series at 2-0.

"See off"? Titan are not out yet right? They just bounced to lower bracket or am i mistaken?
2015-03-27 13:42
Correct. HLTV use of this phrase is annoying when the losing team is not eliminated from the tournament.
2015-03-27 14:04
Where are the haters now?

2015-03-27 13:46
3 reasons Titan lost: 1) RpK -13 2) Ex6TenZ -20 3) Maniac -19 Having kennyS and apEX isn't enough to win vs top1-5 teams.

2015-03-27 15:17
The saddest thing abouth that is that there are no free players in France, who are better than those. If you mention ScreaM, I will ask you to check his stats, his beast performances stopped when Valve nerfed ADADAD and shox left Titan, then he had some good matches, but his role in a team is an open fragger and a crazy fragger, he has never lurked like Maniac usually does, and the only guy to be replaced with ScreaM could be RpK, but who would kick a guy whom you forced to return from retirement?

kioShiMa is a solid fragger, apEX has too many bad days recently, if you watched Titan's last matches, you would understand what I'm talking about.

Do not make that ridiculous comparison, is much easier to play alongside players who also pull the responsibility and end up with the most matches (shox, Happy, NBK), than playing in a team where you see the biggest star (Kennys) die and having to carry the other 3 bots to win the round. detail, it needs to load the 3 bots against the best teams in the world that has players of the same level as himself, miracles do not exist.
2015-03-27 14:00
NBK refused to kick SmithZz back in his Titan times, he will refuse to do it again in EnVyUs. If you want to get rid of SmithZz, you will be forced to get rid of NBK too. So either -nbk&smithzz +apex&kennys, or nothing else.

I do not know what the Envyus are hoping to have a team that hit the front against fnatic, do not understand why Kennys and APEX not left the team yet, or they love to carry a team or are stupid, they are wasting time playing at Titan and failing to win titles at nV.

Friberg had a decent hs % and it seems that when allu has his mojo on GTR also starts going rapemode.
2015-03-27 14:02
Thinking about freelancer-players its hard to understand why scream would not be better for this team than maniac.Certainly he would bring at least the same that maniac brings. At best a hell of a lot more fragginpower.
