Cloud9, Na`Vi march on in Valencia

Cloud9 and Natus Vincere have progressed to the Upper Bracket final of Group A after moving past Team Kinguin and Virtus.pro, respectively.

The opening day of the FACEIT League 2015 Stage 2 finals kicked off with a mouth-watering clash between in-form Cloud9, fresh off back-to-back runners-up finishes at the ESL ESEA Pro League finals and ESWC, and Team Kinguin, who were called last-minute following the withdrawal of EnVyUs.

Kinguin, who bootcamped in Warsaw prior to this event, have always been a tough nut to crack, but many believed that the addition of Dennis "dennis" Edman would help the team finally live up to the hype. However, the European mixture was simply outplayed by Cloud9 from the very beginning of the match thanks to a monster performance from Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham.

Skadoodle was unstoppable against Kinguin

Some great individual work from dennis towards the end of the half allowed Kinguin to string some rounds together, but still they found themselves down by five rounds when they switched to the Terrorist side.

Cloud9 piled more misery on their opponents by taking the opening three rounds of the second half. Kinguin would go on to add two rounds to their tally, the first of which thanks to a quad kill by Håvard "rain" Nygaard, but the North American team quickly regained control of the proceedings and sealed a 16-7 success.

The next match brought two European heavyweights together, Na`Vi, who are riding high on form after winning ESWC, and Virtus.pro, who are keen on claiming silverware once again.

The Polish team got off to a flying start in the match and cruised to a 5-0 lead, but then Na`Vi responded in convincing fashion and brought the scoreline to 8-7 in their favour, with Denis "seized" Kostin turning heads.

In the second half, the first few rounds continued to swing back and forth as neither side could stamp their authority on the game. But with the score tied 12-12, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács finally managed to show his true colours as he powered Na`Vi to take four rounds in a row thanks to a series of important kills.
