TSM trump fnatic, advance to semis

TSM are the second team through to the semifinals of FACEIT League 2015 Stage 2 following a 16-10 victory over fnatic.

With another best-of-one match-up between two titans in the offing, and with the same map of de_overpass since the last time these two teams clashed in an offline match, the Upper Bracket final of Group B set the stakes for a tensely contested game.

TSM wasted no time in establishing early-game control, winning the pistol and capitalising on the successive rounds. fnatic countered with a win on the first gunround however the Danish defense destabilised fnatic's money situation with a fifth round win.

TSM settled their fnatic-grudge on de_overpass

fnatic forced up and Robin "flusha" Rönnquist put his Galil to use with a crucial entry kill, allowing the Swedish team to enter onto the B site and win the round.

The next round, Nicolai "device" Reedtz utilised an AWP which he saved to push into connector stairs and get a kill, a decision which funneled fnatic onto B site where Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth was waiting with his force-bought FAMAS and where he was able to pick up three kills in succession.

TSM began to stave off the Swedish assault, forcing the latter team to call a tactical pause in the 10th round. However, TSM could claim to have no chink in their armour as the team defended both sites equally well, not allowing fnatic any room to breathe.

flusha had multiple key rounds for fnatic to no avail

On the 14th round, fnatic resorted to the tried and tested method of a pell-mell rush to try and catch TSM off-guard, which unsurprisingly worked and gave the Swedish team its third round win of the half.

fnatic were unable to convert this round win into a final round win, and the story of the half was TSM's Great Wall of Defense which led to a 12-3 half for the Danes.

Semi-support, semi-carry player Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson kept his team's hopes alive with a crucial three kills on fnatic's CT pistol, giving the team a foothold in the second half. The 18th round represented a chance for TSM to close out the game, but flusha secured critical MP7 kills, allowing Markus "pronax" Wallsten to win a one-on-one and defuse.

TSM finally found their moment in the 23rd round when an A-site entry caught a sleeping Jesper "JW" Wecksell off-guard and gave the Danes an opening. The team repeated this A-entry trick in the next round and won, going up 14-8.

TSM have now earned a semifinal spot

With fnatic on pistols for tie point, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer and flusha combined boost-power and deep-site play respectively to keep the game alive for the team.

fnatic once again nearly gave up a three-versus-four retake, however flusha was determined to power the team forward and helped tick off another round, JW, on the other hand, went into the next round with a 4-21 scoreline.

The 25th round was finally the place where TSM made their breakthrough, sealing away a two-versus-two on B site to garner match point and force fnatic once again to pistol-buy in the next round.

The pistol-buy had no effect this time, and TSM ended the map sending their regards to fnatic with a 16-10 win on de_overpass.
