CEVO announce $150,000 Season 8

CEVO have announced its league's eighth season, which will once again feature LAN finals in MLG.tv studio in Columbus, Ohio on November 6-8.

After giving out more than $135,000 in prizemoney during Season 7, which ended this weekend with Virtus.pro emerging victorious from a best-of-five series against Natus Vincere, CEVO are ready to announce the opening of Season 8.

That will feature a total of four skill divisions, called Professional, Main, Intermediate and Amateur, the last three of which serve as stepping stones, as the top sides in each get to fight for a spot in the higher-level competition.

Kinguin are taking part in the CEVO-P Placement tournament

The league will see a change in format - albeit small - teams will receive a point for each map won in the best-of-two, instead of three for a series win and one each after a tie.

As of now the Placement tournament is still going on, so not all teams are set for the next season, whose schedule looks as such:

  • July 23 - August 22: Registration + Preseason
  • July 20 - August 11: Placement tournament
  • August 16 - October 8: Regular season
  • October 11 - TBA: Playoffs
  • November 6-8: LAN Finals

$150,000 will be distributed among the teams, $50,000 of which will go into travel support for the LAN finals teams with the remainder going into the prizepot itself.

Teams that would like to register for the Amateur league have to head over to the CEVO website.

One of the guys actually got a really good "radio voice" If he just knew as much about the game as a guy like anders, he could probably be a really good caster.
2015-07-27 19:09
m8, I guarantee you launders' CS knowledge is vastly superior to anders'.
2015-07-27 19:10
Even tho I disagree, I wasn't talking about launders.
2015-07-27 19:11
who then?
2015-07-27 19:13
misled probably, also he talks about "winning the half" too much
2015-07-27 19:43
is misled the one who sounds like he's trying too hard to have a deep voice
2015-07-27 20:09
Misled is the guy who always says "he'll remove (insert player) from the round". He also has a radio voice and a beard.

isn't that every NA caster? Thought of jmoses immidiatly.
2015-07-27 23:19
Not the dust guy but some other guy. I think launders casted the finales with him.
2015-07-27 19:55
Anders is super overrated
2015-07-27 19:12
launders isnt a pro and neither is anders... all launders knows about is textbook technique and movement... he cant even get out of cevo-main ffs
2015-07-27 20:44
he's definitely better than Anders at the game... whenever I watch Anders play it seriously looks like a DMG getting carried by his global buddies
2015-07-27 20:57
Silver Elite* getting carried by the Danish scene. Not trying to say I'm amazing but Anders is srs bad at CS Go, for someone that plays as much as him its pretty surprising.

Thats really nice i have a weird feeling that i will win this match man

i really like launders, calm and has the knowledge. I can't stand the Luca 'misled' graham though. His voice sounds artificial and when they show the casters he is constantly nodding his head in agreement, doesn't matter what his co caster is talking about, could be the weather or him fucking misleds mother he would still nod his head, then as soon as the other caster is done with whatever he was talking about misled switches subject complelty like he didn't listen (which he probably didn't do lol)
2015-07-27 21:18
True dat, these casters were fucking blind, they couldn't even keep count of how many players are alive and they were hyping stuff way too hard. Launders is the only guy out there that actually has good CS knowledge.

The best of two format sucks...
2015-07-27 19:16
No, it's really good for online season play. Teams have to play so many online matches, that bo2 allow for much better scheduling. bo3 can sometimes take forever (up to 4 hours) so having bo2 allows teams to play other matches around that as well.

With that argument might as well make bo1, or play bo3 mr12 or some other stupid shit.
2015-07-27 19:41
Bo1 is too random and bo3 takes too much time
