fnatic beat LG; through to semis

fnatic have secured the last spot in the semi-finals at ESL One Cologe 2015 after beating Luninosity Gaming 2-0 (16-5 on train and 16-14 on de_mirage).

de_train began with fnatic winning the pistol round and following it up with two anti-eco rounds to start off the game with a 3-0 lead. Luminosity then took too long to execute their strategy, which gave fnatic another round on the board, but then the Brazilians redeemed themselves and rescued their first round, courtesy of a quad kill by Ricardo "boltz" Prass.

Luminosity were unable to build on that round win, however, as Jesper "JW" Wecksell stepped up to the plate and delivered three AWP frags to restore a four-round lead for his team. fnatic remained in cruise control until the rest of the first half, with Luminosity's late round wins bringing the scoreline to 3-12.

fnatic executed their pistol strategy as Terrorist quite poorly and were left with a two-man disadvantage early on, which Luminosity were able to exploit. The Brazilian team would win the following anti-eco round, but once fnatic bought up they were simply outclassed by Markus "pronax" Wallsten's men.

fnatic move on to the semi-finals

Both teams then moved on to de_mirage, where a strong start from fnatic saw them stroll to a 5-0 lead. Luminosity then strung a series of rounds together to level the score at 6-6 to remind that they would not go down without a fight. The remaining three rounds of the first half went back and forth, with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga taking the spotlight thanks to a spectacular ace.

A triple kill from Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson in the pistol round as CT powered fnatic to increase their lead to 9-7, but the Swedish crawled back into the game immediately after as they won the first eco round. The game continued to swing back and forth until it reached a 13-13 scoreline, when fnatic picked up two rounds in a row to bring it to match point.

Luminosity won the following round to bring the game to the final round, but a failed 2vs2 hold attempt ended their journey in Cologne.

Unfortunately, LG's pistol is so weak. It was the same shit against envyus, they didnt win a single pistol. But that's it, another good major for LG, keep working, maybe next one we reach finals. Now it's time to cheer for VP. Gogo neo and pasza biceps!
2015-08-23 00:39
Fallen didn't realize that pistol rounds its about 2 rounds, they lost two in mirage, thats will cost a lot of games till they fix it.

GG fnatic, 2-0 as expected, but LG would've won mirage if they had at least one pistol. Plus, picking Train against fnatic was stupid, because they had to start as T.

LG picked train knowing that they would start as T. I think FalleN was relying in a strong T side by them.

Luminosity always plays only one good map in their BO3 against huge teams. Too bad they're not consistent enough.
2015-08-22 23:08
i think fnatic was too tough for them if it was another team they would took more rounds or at least win one map!

2015-08-22 23:14

2015-08-22 23:17
I mean, they could win against any teams, except the top6(Fnatic,TSM,nV,VP,Na'Vi,NiP)

I have to confess that I didn't really think much about LG before this tournament, but they have really shown that they're a really good team. Calm and tactical while shooting really hard. Also seem like a bunch of really nice guys. GL in the future LG!

Steel is being heavy to carry with. GG Luminosity, you guys did great in this Major. It's a pitty that Fnatic wasn't only at the Grand Finals for you. The chances to win vs TSM and VP was high!
2015-08-23 00:36
No, no they were not.
2015-08-23 00:45
Don't listen to him he's just mad mouse sports are trash, Steel was the worst player at this major.
2015-08-23 01:49
so salty mouz sucks lol
2015-08-23 18:31
They are the best team in the world but it will get boring if fnatic win everything
2015-08-23 03:44
Which is why the matches today will be pretty exciting. All 3 of the teams can definitely bring a good fight vs Fnatic.
