IEM San Jose with TSM, EnVyUs

The next Intel Extreme Masters stop for CS:GO in San Jose, California has had its first two teams announced for the $100,000 tournament, as well as the official format.

IEM San Jose will take place inside the SAP Center Arena, or "The Shark Tank," from November 21-22 in San Jose, California and offer $100,000 via its CS:GO tournament.

The format has now been officially announced by ESL for the event: eight teams will play a single elimination, best-of-three bracket across the two days of the event.

device and TSM will travel to California in November for IEM San Jose

The first two teams to attend the event have also been announced and they are:

Denmark TSM France EnVyUs

Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer's EnVyUs and Finn "karrigan" Andersen's TSM will therefore be the first two announced teams to attend IEM San Jose. The two teams are something of rivals following recent offline clashes, such as nV's tense 2-0 victory at DreamHack Open London.

The event will also play a key role in determining the attendance of teams for the final stop of the Intel Extreme Masters circuit, at the IEM World Championship in Katowice.

Interested attendees can purchase tickets here for the event.

san jose sharks should pick up a team and defend their homeland - that'd be fun.

nice format ez for tsm

Eight teams, two days, ALL BO3 matches, already better than the major's, pretty sad. The only "downside" is the single elim, outside of that it's better.

It's only 2 days, anything other than single elimination would require BO1 or a longer tournament. I live an hour's drive away from the venue but its 16+ and I'm 14.75 RIP I'll still try to get in I guess
2015-10-10 08:04
16+ for an arena?

I believe it was 16+ Why? is that low or high? Edit: its 17 actually. No way i'll pass for 17. I swear to got it was 16 before, because I thought i may have a chance to pass. Edit2: I can actually go with a parent!!! The hard part is going to be finding an adult to go with me or my friends though
2015-10-10 08:10
why would you have age limit on e-sport event? It doesn't make sense. Same with NA restriction laws for 21 to drink alcohol. No sense, what so ever.
2015-10-10 09:11
Because CS is rated M aka 17+.
2015-10-10 09:49
lol gamescom iem also had age restriction
2015-10-10 09:59
and ESL cologne '15 major.
2015-10-10 11:41
nop , everybody got in on the major even kids
2015-10-10 12:36
They need it, otherwise there would be a shit ton of drunk drivers Car @ 16, and alcohol when you're 18 is a really bad combo imo but 18 and 18 just like the Nordics are fine
2015-10-10 19:11
Alcohol @ 16. Driving license @ 18. Thats a good combo!
2015-10-12 08:52
No I know, I'm just saying that's the "only" downside...still better than the major's though.

Yeah I wasn't saying you're stupid or wrong, just that it's impossible to not do that. I agree that it's better than the major, and I actually heard valve was considering this vs dreamhack as the major. It came out of an unreliable friend who claimed there would be a CS tourney at twitchcon though so I doubt it.
2015-10-10 08:09
it is 17+ but you can go with your parents, your parents must sign a waiver that is on the website. From the official iem website: The minimum age to attend IEM San Jose is 17 years. All attendees under 17 will have to be in the physical presence of a guardian and will have to bring a waiver.

Yeah i just saw that about 10 mintues after my post and edited. :P Thanks though Edit: Do you know if that means an adult has to be there with me as I go in, or do they have to buy a ticket and join as well?

2015-10-10 08:38
if the NiP lineup changes it would probably involve G2 that's why I didn't mentioned them thei'r on the same level as Titan or Mousesports and there are millions of portuguese people I dont need to talk about 1.

Different tournaments, but at the same time and place
2015-10-10 13:56
They want to keep both brands obviously. So might even see two tournaments at the same time which is utterly retarded but yeah..
2015-10-10 13:38
cmon my boys
2015-10-10 08:39
ESL eww, shit "casters" and "analysts" likely, shit format likely too. Maybe they should take a hint and hire some actual talent and fix their formats.
2015-10-10 08:51
you forgot to write "TSM" after " Finn "karrigan" Andersen's "
2015-10-10 09:04
Won't watch cause NA CS is dead.
2015-10-10 09:24
envy is already qualified for the final spot... they should give a chance to other teams
2015-10-10 09:33
XDDD
2015-10-10 09:47
I hope none of the teams catches AIDS while in Cali :(

Esl and bo3 it's a trap.
2015-10-10 09:51
I hope the let the next major define the teams and not go full retard and invite 4 NA teams.

2015-10-11 07:37
Shitty format, shitty choice of teams since not everybody can attend. Well ESL you're doing it all over again. Being shit at everything. Sad that you're the monopole when it comes to CS.
2015-10-10 13:39
They're not a monopoly, they're metaphorically Apple because they can get away with literally shit decisions
2015-10-10 19:15
Hopefully we get Fnatic, TSM, Envyus, VP, Navi, Cloud 9, LG, and Liquid.
2015-10-10 21:18
