Virtus.pro win Crown's Invitational

Virtus.pro are the winners of the Crown's Counter-Strike Invitational after seeing off Immunity by a 2-0 scoreline (19-17 on de_overpass and 16-3 on de_mirage).

Virtus.pro came out of the gate looking really sharp, picking up the pistol round thanks to a triple kill from Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, the two anti-eco rounds and the first three gun rounds to storm to a 6-0 lead. The Polish team were then caught off-guard by a Tec9 rush from Immunity, with Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland taking down an overextending Filip "NEO" Kubski to pick up his weapon before getting two more frags to his name.

Immunity continued to pick up round after round and eventually brought the scoreline to 5-6. Virtus.pro then got back on their feet and strung a series of rounds together to close out the half with a 9-6 lead.

Virtus.pro win Crown's Invitational

In the second half, Immunity picked up the opening three rounds to restore parity at 9-9. The next few rounds were extremely high contested as neither side could stamp their authority on the game, but then Virtus.pro regained control of the proceedings and took a 14-11 lead, putting Immunity in danger of getting blown out. However, the home side crawled back into the game and forced overtime, where they would come up short against the Poles.

Next up was de_mirage, a map both teams are known to be very strong on. However, it was simply a one-way street from start to finish as Virtus.pro cruised to an impressive 16-3 victory after picking up a whopping 13 rounds on the CT side.

Crown's Invitational Final Standings:

1. Poland Virtus.pro - $25,600
2. Australia Immunity - $7,330
3-4. Australia Renegades - $3,660
3-4. United States Cloud9 - $3,660
5-6. Australia The Chiefs
5-6. Australia SYF Gaming

wtf are you talking about. what exposure? this event had the lowest viewership of any event with t1 teams in 2015. and it was all down to the inability of the organizers.

so playing against virtus pro and cloud9 doesnt expose immunity to different playstyles and give them something to practise for/against? ok then...

2015-10-10 13:16
$66,666 crown tournament inc
2015-10-10 13:19
I'm sure that number would scare off superstitious gamblers. Casinos put a lot of effort into ensuring customers don't feel like they're getting bad luck. Heck I think Crown even had to remove windows pointing towards the Yarra so Chinese patrons didn't think their luck would escape there. So probably $77,777 is a better number.
2015-10-10 13:56

2015-10-10 13:26
gz VP beating a litteraly tier 3/4 team that couldnt even qualify for the major when they had to play vs other EU teams and not get a free welfare pass from the asian qualifer.

okay, seems like aussies really deserves 2 major spots..
2015-10-10 13:52
Well only if we can keep beating all of Asia to claim them. We aren't completely gifted 2 spots.
2015-10-10 13:57
not really because they fail to qualify vs EU and NA teams and can only get to the majors when they get welfare spots and free passes from asia qualifier vs DMG level teams.

Australia isnt around the corner n00bs.. U think its 25k divided by players/managers? What about the hotel/flights/accomodation etc etc. Unless their orga pays for it and only grabs like 10% of the money they win, then this actually was worth for vp.
2015-10-11 20:00
I'm quite sure travel expenses and accomodation was all provided for by Crown.
