NiP advance to last-four over TSM

Ninjas in Pyjamas have made it to the semi-final stage of DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca after easing past Team SoloMid 2-0 (16-10 on de_train and 16-8 on de_dust2).

The third quarter-final contest of the Cluj major was an all-Nordic clash between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team SoloMid. The Danish team seemed to be playing the best Counter-Strike of its history, but they were simply no match for their Scandinavian rivals, who advance to the semi-finals.

The first map of the series, de_train, began with NiP picking up the first four rounds as CT. TSM then responded with a round of their own, but NiP continued their fantastic run, with the scoreline blooming to a fantastic 7-1 lead for the Swedes. TSM then finally managed to solve their offensive setup, reducing the deficit to 4-7, but NiP held on to their lead and picked up two rounds in a row before Finn "karrigan" Andersen closed out the half with an amazing ace.

Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth stole the plaudits with a triple kill with the CZ in the pistol round to keep his team in the game, but they were taken aback by stunning individual actions from Adam "friberg" Friberg and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg in the first two gun rounds. By now, the momentum had shifted in favor of the Swedish team, who would go on to win the map by a 16-10 scoreline.

NiP delivered an impressive display

Next up was de_dust2, where TSM came out the brighter of the two sides, winning the pistol round and the following anti-eco. The Danish team were unable, however, to make it 3-0 as they were caught off-guard by NiP's P250 rush, with Aleksi "allu" Jalli playing out a 1vs1 with Nicolai "device" Reedtz in the A site beautifully.

NiP continued to press forward and won the following eight rounds, bringing the scoreline to 8-2. TSM were forced to call a tactical pause to solve their defense, but all they accomplished was a mere two rounds as the Swedish team enjoyed an 11-4 halftime lead. Things then went from bad to worse for TSM as they lost the opening three rounds on the Terrorist side, and even though they would still manage to string four rounds together after buying up, it was simply not enough to prevent NiP from running out 2-0 victors here.

it's not ez matchup so someone have good stat and someone not, but it's team game, you can not use the stat to say who play good or bad, i mean if you got some crucial frag, it's more important than got 2,3 or 4kill but still lose

It's sad to see cajunb underperforming like he did on train. It's been a while since he's not on his top level. For me he was the reason they were losing. But well, friberg was on fire like he never was before... So i dunno but they have to start to consider a roster change.

tsm = overrated dogshit. hltv ranking system is so bad. how are they ranked #1 when they cant even beat envyus the real number 1
2015-10-31 18:39
yeah +1 tsm is overrated. maybe envyus isn't top1 though. i don't believe any team is significantly over the others. but yeah. if tsm were top1, they would at least win against envyus, even sometimes
2015-10-31 18:47
there is no team stronger than envyus since the last major. vp has been overrated for way too long. i think the people that made the rankings dont even watch the matches.
2015-10-31 18:58
And weirdly enough nV has been struggling against NiP. If final is nV vs NiP I actually could NiP see winning it, how unreal.
2015-10-31 19:50
Whole event is actually unreal .... When you consider the fact that semis might be LG vs NiP and then (like you said) NiP has a real chance to win the whole thing .
2015-10-31 20:18
True that. Although it's Na'Vi against NIP in semi now, Na'Vi always been a struggle van for NIP. Gonna be interesting.
2015-10-31 21:42
I think NiP will take it. Na'Vi's T side is way too weak imo. Last seconds executes, very predictable. Against a team that knows them well (unlike LG)Na'Vi might struggle.
2015-10-31 21:53
HLTV should probably hold themselves to a higher standard, given that they're the gold standard. But when eSports gets bigger, you can sure expect far worse headlines... It's a part of the business boys.

I feel like NiP just have this incredible way of beating teams mentally at majors. Like tsm have lost that many times go NiP it was bound to plague them yet again. NiP really should make the finals. This is what happens when the dust settles and legends can finally play their game again without the Wright of the world on them.

I think the only way TSM can win a major is if they dont face NiP

I honestly thought this could happen. So many times NiP have just slapped around the boys on TSM back when they were on CPHW, WW, and Dig

TSM is a great team, and so far We see they win 21 maps without losing one; and then they lost to NiP in their best map. They weren't saving strats, even NiP doesn't. And yes, after that; I've started to believe old NiP is back; and There's one team to stop TSM in this Major, and it's Ninjas in Pyjamas!
