Na`Vi win IEM San Jose

Natus Vincere are your IEM San Jose champions after defeating TSM 2-0 in the grand final (16-10 on de_dust2 and 16-8 on de_cbble).

The grand final of IEM San Jose brought two of the most favoured teams together in a European clash on North American shores: Na`Vi and TSM.

With TSM recently revealed to be facing organisational issues, the Danes were seen as needing a strong result to recover from a insecure showing at DreamHack Open Cluj and all the overarching rumours.

Na`Vi's return to North America sees them win an event

However, the grand final was ultimately a playground for Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács and his teammates as Na`Vi took TSM's map pick of de_dust2 from the Danes at 16-10.

TSM, who are known for often vetoing de_cbble, were crushed by a solid Na`Vi defense on de_cbble, going down 1-14 at the half. Despite a small whimper of an attempt to come back into the game, TSM crumbled and Na`Vi powered ahead to win the map 16-8 and the event itself.

Markeloff +1 > Seized
2015-11-23 12:44
cogu > markeloff overall, thats not really up for discussion. markeloff had his best years, same as navi, in the late stages of 1.6, when the competition was already going downhill. cogu had played over way longer span and faced the best era and teams and went beastmode for many years. markeloff was a beast and prolly the best player somewhere around 2010-2011, loved his play and he still got days in csgo where he can put up great numbers, not with legendary awp tho :D
2015-11-23 05:18
Haha
2015-11-23 10:27
"In 2010 the competition was already downhill" - lmao? It was on of the most successful period in cs history thx to Arbalet and at least 5 equal tier1 teams. Not to mention the whole top20 from all around the world. Oh, i'm almost forgot about skill level in general. So, pls favela.
2015-11-23 14:40
the era around 2005 - 2008 was way better IMO, and no, im not brasilian or do u have to be to prefer cogu over markeloff?
2015-11-23 16:10
Markeloff's 2010 Na'Vi was the most successful 1.6 team ever, and Markeloff was the most dominant player in major finals during that period there has ever been in 1.6. Gj tho.

2015-11-23 08:09
Pimp is no better then any of the TSM players. There is no point in doing roster changes when they are doing this well. Sure they lost in the final, but besides Fnatic, they have probably had the most successful year as a team.
2015-11-23 18:12
I dont say they need to change anyone. But IF they do..i would put my money on Pimp.

replacing xy9x? The #1 player in clutches in majors history? AND HE IS PLAYING SUPPORT ROLE LOL while you want to keep device "thechoker" chokstar
2015-11-23 13:04
lol, its not device who chokes, its the whole team. Thats like saying why not Fnatic cut olofmeister? because they went out in quarters of major
2015-11-23 18:14
I don't want to replace device but it doesn't seem realistic to replace your best player in the majors after group stage ends. Device is not a bad player for me, but he chokes a lot in fact i don't remember one decent performance for him against a top team in the majors playoffs, he is their key player but he doesn't show up when it matters. olofm didn't choke, he had a bad major.
2015-11-24 01:25
Choking is when you have a big lead and you throw it away (if you want an example watch any NA play an international tournament). TSM have not choked at a single major this year, they have just been outclassed by other teams they have been facing. They have never thrown away a big league, they have just played like shit. Device is not a carry player. He can't put his team on his back like GuardiaN or olof, he just frags slightly better than the rest of his team.
2015-11-24 17:30
Then what do you call a team that is a top3 losing to a team like NiP? I don't know what is the technical term whether its choke or something else TSM has always had it. They mostly exit the major through a team that they trashed on regular basis. NiP in katowice, new envyus lineup in cologne (when tsm was ranked #1 in the world), NiP in cluj. don't tell me that NiP is a decent team because everyone knows they suck both tournament they got trashed in the semis.

Deserved for Na'vi, it's a delight to watch guardian play when he is onfire. TSM keep shaking like trees on a windy day every time it matters. It's a shame really, they could be a level above if not for that.

TSM is a great team, so much immaturity in this scene. They got absolutely dominated by Na'Vi (Who are looking fantastic I might add). TSM will remain a top 3-5 team, guaranteed. That being said, GG NAVI! So glad to see Edward on top form btw!
2015-11-23 04:25
Oh man you have no idea how I missed that GODLIKE Edward. This man provided me some good CS to watch back in 2009-2012. Good to see him playing top level again.
2015-11-23 04:32
He used to be my favorite player to watch in 1.6. A huge part of me is hoping he hits his peak and just start blowing people out. It'd be pretty unexpected since hasn't had many star level performances in CS:GO. Here's to hoping!
2015-11-23 04:37
Man I probably watched every available PoV of this guy haha :D Just loved his playstyle. Even bought my gear based on him hehe The thing is CSGO NaVi don't have as much impact as 1.6 NaVi with markeloff and Edward playing their peak. Man that team seemed to have every little piece placed just perfectly. ceh9 was so important to that, even tho he was behind starix/Edward/markel aimwise. Happy to see NaVi playing solid CS once again. Hope they find their way to the top1 spot again. Team looks really solid. GuardiaN playing out of his mind scares me out!
2015-11-23 04:42
I never watched him specifically but after meeting him in Cologne he seemed really down 2 earth so glad he won this

2015-11-23 05:16
tsm really did give up way before the last shot was fired. they werent laughin at 2:13 after winning ct pistol with dual berettas. i respect their sportsmanship and non-rage in these situations. csgo can be random and when ure off, ure off, theres a point of no return most of the time. gotta say tho that tsm got these off maps more often in finals than anywhere else. :/ feel sorry for them bcuz they were the best team for a while and still can be (gotta wait for fnatic with dennis tho).
2015-11-23 05:21
wow im so happy for navi FREAKING HAPPY! WOOT!!!!

2015-11-23 08:19
Why would u not veto Cbble? It's obvious they weren't even trying sometimes imo (no, I didn't bet)
2015-11-23 08:38
After struggling in most of the tournaments, its very nice to see NaVi to win, congrats boys!
2015-11-23 08:38
In most? They had like 2 fail tourneys since adding Flamie. Still glad, that they managed to beat TSM on lan. It was one of that tournaments where all 5 of them stepping up
2015-11-23 09:20
Na'Vi win the major, it's must be a joke. Edward 1vs3 clutch moment never forget <3 wp boys

I was close to staying up all night to watch this, but in the end i decided that work in the morning might be quite hard if i watched cs all night. In hindsight not a bad decision. TSM lost to a better playing team, no doubt about it, and i think Navi will continue to show their excellent form in the coming time. If i know Zeus right, its a matter of time before he manages to untie all the ties and find his way to all the biggest finals. TSM, you got it next time guys! Gl hf

Depending on when they travelled I guess? Just TSM's own mistake, they all looked much more tired than NaVi. It's not an excuse, just an observation.
2015-11-23 17:50
Navi went from cluj to Columbus(cevo) back home then back to this tournament. Jetlag isn't an excuse tbf.

TSM did a great tournament and they have to keep training. Is true than 0-2 was a surprise and disappointed, we expected one match with adjust score.
2015-11-23 11:48
Cool to see how young talents develop their potentials when they have a good leader.

dupreeh and device are not cut to win top tier tournament, they completely black out at every big final they need someone to carry them. So unless cajunb goes huge and xy9x gets all the huge clutches and karrigan plays kennys level with the awp they wont get to win shit.

is it just me or is the prize money distribution really odd? like why all the random extra dollars? surely it could be split more evenly by taking the pocket change from each and mixing it up a bit? should be more like this: 1st: $60,000 2nd: $25,000 3-4th: $12,000 5-8th: $4000 = $125,000 total prize pot
