Luminosity over TSM to FACEIT final
Luminosity surprise again with a 2-1 victory over TSM (de_mirage 5-16, de_overpass 16-6, de_inferno 21-17) and move on to the grand final, where they will meet fnatic.
After causing havoc in yesterday's survival matches Luminosity were pitted against TSM, starting out with de_mirage with the Danish side on the Counter-Terrorist side.
TSM didn't take any time to take the match in their hands since they got a quick 4-0 lead thanks to a pistol round, as well as a gunround and a scary forcebuy going their way. When it got to 6-0, Luminosity took an early tactical timeout, which didn't come to much fruition as TSM continued to destroy all attempts for 8-0.
The first few opportunities for the Brazilian side to get on the scoreboard offered themselves there and then, but both were stopped, as René "cajunb" Borg got two kills while being alone against three, and Finn "karrigan" Andersen combined with Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth for a 2-on-4.
Finally Luminosity did get a round in the half, albeit a single one, as a struggling Fernando "fer" Alvarenga managed to clutch a 1-on-3 on the B bombsite for a 1-14 scoreline. A clean pistol round went their way too, only for them to get thrown off balance again by a deagle buy by TSM.
TSM had a great start into the series
Lincoln "fnx" Lau and company fought back with the next forcebuy and got one more anti-eco, but it was all she wrote after TSM closed it out at 16-4.
de_overpass seemed like it was going in the same direction on mirage as TSM once again got off to a great start for 5-0 thanks to a solid retake in the pistol and a delay of Luminosity's push towards A enough for the time to run out.
Another one of similar pushes ended up with Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo getting a triple and a 1-on-2 for the first round on his team's side, which set off a streak that saw them tie the game at 6-6.
Soon after they also took the first lead in the game and didn't let go all the way until the end. 9-6 scoreline for them at halftime plus a won pistol round, as well as FalleN's quick quad-kill in the first buyround allowed Luminosity to snatch map two from TSM at 16-6.
The match was to be decided on de_inferno and it was fer with a triple to start it all off to help his team get to 3-0 as Terrorists. TSM managed to win the first gunround, but fell short in the second as Luminosity entered the B bombsite without casualties, forcing TSM to save three guns.
Xyp9x's triple from pit and one from Nicolai "device" Reedtz alone on B got their team back on their feet for a 4-4, but Luminosity started exploiting the B bombsite over and over for 8-4. Another attempt at that forced them to rotate back to A while being low on time, which backfired as TSM picked up the round after time ran out.
Luminosity refused to budge against the odds
Another strong defense on A was negated by another one in the very last round of the half for 9-6 in Luminosity's favor. Despite the Brazilians winning the pistol, their full-SMG buy in the second round backfired against TSM's low forcebuy, and the score only showed a one-round difference at 10-9.
Running into a blender in mid didn't help things for the Danish side, but they made up for it right afterwards before failing a flash on B, which cost them a free bombsite and eventually the round for 12-10. Two good executes from them partially made up for that mistake and they evened it up at 12-12 only for Luminosity to take two of their own on the back of Marcelo "coldzera" David's triple.
The back and forth game continues until the end of regulation, as TSM fought against all odds after Luminosity got to match point at 15-13, forcing their opponents on a bad buy, and everything had to be settled in overtime. There, Luminosity continued with superb individual performances, especially coldzera and fnx, and celebrated advancing to the grand final after a 19-17 scoreline, 2-1.
Next up is the grand final between Luminosity and fnatic, which will start once both teams get ready.
