fnatic beat Question Mark 2-0
fnatic have joined Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Upper Bracket final of the fragbite Masters Season 5 finals following a 2-0 victory over Question Mark (16-11 on de_cache and 16-10 on de_mirage).
The second match of the day saw FACEIT League champions fnatic take on Question Mark less than 24 hours after the Danish team officially parted ways with Team SoloMid as they look to play under the banner of a European organisation.
The first map of the series, de_cache, began with a fantastic ace from Dennis "dennis" Edman in the pistol round, with fnatic following it up with two anti-ecos to start off the game with a 3-0 lead. The former TSM team then finally put their foot down to hold back the Swedish side and won five rounds straight, but the rest of the half was highly contested, with fnatic taking a narrow 8-7 lead into the break.
The second half began with fnatic getting off to a blazing fast start as they won five rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to 13-7. Question Mark then won four in a row to keep their hopes alive before fnatic closed out the map by winning three consecutive rounds.
fnatic off to a great start at the fragbite Masters finals
Map #2, de_mirage, began in almost copycat fashion to the first, but this time around dennis was taken down before he could pick up the ace. The ex-TSM team looked very lively during the early stages of the game, winning seven of the first nine rounds, but then a quad kill from Robin "flusha" Rönnquist during an eco round shifted the emphasis of the game decisively as fnatic took an 8-7 halftime lead.
Question Mark came from the restart really well and won the pistol round to level the game at 8-8, but fnatic rallied back to reclaim the lead. The Swedish giants got out to an 11-8 lead, but then Question Mark picked themselves up and won back-to-back rounds to reduce the deficit to just one round. Finn "karrigan" Andersen came within touching distance of winning a sensational 1vs4 clutch, only to be denied by Jesper "JW" Wecksell with seconds left on the clock. With that, the momentum completely shifted in favor of fnatic, who would go on to close out the map 16-10.
