MLG reveal Americas Minor details

December 11th, 2015 22:29

MLG have revealed the qualifying process for the Americas Minor, which will hand out another $50,000 to up and coming teams and a spot at MLG Columbus 2016 Major LAN qualifier.

There will be four Minor Championships taking place, one for each of the following regions: Europe, CIS, Asia and the Americas. As the organizer in charge of the latest mentioned, MLG have released additional information on their process.

Another $50,000 Minor will be taking place in the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on January 15-17, with a single spot in the LAN qualifier for the major up for grabs alongside the prizemoney.

Two teams will receive direct invites, while four will come from North America's online qualifier, and the last two from South America's online qualifier. Once again, none of the players that were Challengers or Legends at the last major can take part in this Minor or the qualifiers.

December 19-20 - North America Online Qualifier
December 19-20 - South America Online Qualifier

Head over to MLG's announcement for more information on the Americas qualifying process.

We are waiting for more details from SLTV and ESL on the CIS and Asian Minor Championships. When all the important bits of information are released, we will put together a special overview of the entire qualifying process for the next major, MLG Columbus 2016.

Do you even think before you type? Why do they need to go to a minor qualifiers since they will attend the major qualifiers.
2015-12-11 23:11

4 from NA e two from SA, it means we will have a lot of brazilians teams: G.A in NA, g3x and perhaps INTZ from BR, i don't think any other team here in SA can beat g3x or even jayob.

This major is going to be horrible, spots are literally being handed out to rookies LOL.

The minor system is nice, I suppose, in terms of getting the lower calibre teams some quality LAN experience. However, I'm still not a big fan of the rule not allowing certain players/teams from participating at the LAN. Boltz, for example, is on the second best team in Brazil with four players who haven't been close to qualifying for a major. But it disqualifies his team from participating at the LAN.

2 slots for SouthAmerica, that means 1 for LAS and 1 for LAN? cuz its imposible to play from Panama-Colombia-Ecuador-Venezuela in Brazilian Servers
2015-12-11 22:57
+1 remember worldcup nations every games with problem pings

Exactly, what Riot Games and Valve Dota2 Qualifiers do in SouthAmerica is spread SouthAmerica in 2 halfs: -Colombia-Panama-Ecuador-Venezuela-Peru (LAN) -> Miami Routing -Chile-Argentina-Brazil-Uruguay-Bolivia (LAS) -> Sao Pablo Routing (Peru can play here too if needed) Then with this two groups, they give 1 slot for each and thats it, cuz if not it happens the same that in the world championships qualifiers, 1 team has 40 ping and the other has 150. I hope they figure out this on time to dont have those problems
2015-12-11 23:19
yes but I dont believe that will be on LAN, know how things are in the South America and there are nine days of the games, it would be very difficult that they could do something in 9 days.... Probably will have problems with pings :( :)

TRS has dissolved .. has had one single change in reality. And now they are selling personal items and skins csgo to travel to Brazil. As Argentina or South America does not have brands like Razer gaming etc HiperX cost much. But yes
