Starladder has released information about the CIS Minor, which will feature $50,000 in prize money.
Following up the announcements about the European, the American and the Asian minors, Starladder has finally shed some light on the CIS regional event, open to teams from 15 countries from Eastern Europe.
The road to the CIS Minor begins with two online qualifiers, each one open to 512 teams. Both tournaments will use a best-of-one, single-elimination format, with the map being determined by a veto.
The top four sides from each open qualifier will secure spots at a closed tournament, in which they will be joined by eight sides invited by Starladder. This qualifier will kick off with a group stage, featuring four groups of four teams, followed by a single-elimination bracket.
Four teams from this qualifier will make it to the CIS Minor, which will be held in Minsk from January 22-24. Rounding out the eight-team list of participants will be four invited sides.
