questionmark have announced that they have secured the services of Danny "zonic" Sørensen as a coach.

The 29-year-old had returned to activity only last month, reuniting with four other former members of mTw in an announcement that generated much fanfare in the community.

Without a single appearance for the team, Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen has left mTw to accept a full-time offer to coach questionmark, who are on the brink of revealing their new organisation after parting ways with Team SoloMid last month.

The 2008 WCG champion is no stranger to the job, having coached dignitas from July to December - when he decided to reverse the decision to retire.

"When we decided to get a coach for 2016, the entire team agreed that only Danny [zonic] would fit as the 6th man on our team," questionmark member Finn "karrigan" Andersen said in a statement.

"With his vast experience as a top tier player, Danny is able to help us improve on both communication and tactics, while also being aware of what is expected of a professional player."

zonic will attend his first event as questionmark's coach next week, at the SL i-League StarSeries XIV Finals, in Minsk, Belarus, where they will face teams like fnatic, EnVyUs and Luminosity for the bulk of the $200,000 prize pool.

They are very different in personality. Ave is afaik a pretty chill and quite guy whereas zonic is much more outgoing. I'm guessing it's good to have a guy that can hype you on LAN and will be really passionate + zonic properly already know the TQM guys from when he coached dig. Social network means a hell of a lot in the CS community. Always has.

Maybe because zonic has experience as a CS:GO coach having coached Dignitas from July to December. Zonic attended a decent amount of events at that time and probably talked a lot with the only other danish players at the events (Questionmark)

I'd say it comes to Zonic being less of a leader and a more smart person with an indepth understanding of MODERN cs.

To believe ave was the singular brains behind mTw would be very wrong - just because he was the caller doesn't mean he made up the strats by himself and here we are not talking about someone who is to call for the team (or that would be my guess, though zonic can also do it), but someone who can pitch in with ideas, helping to discipline the players, better the communication and generally bring some calmness to the team. zonic is generally more experienced than ave, both in the earlier CS versions and also in CS:GO.

This. zonic obviously is a great coach pickup for these guys, but I had hoped for their commitment to mTw, meaning the old spirit of "the boys" being back together, to be stronger than money. zonic very much is an essential part of that mTw spirit. I agree, that's why I said that my personal feeling to it was disappointment because they are usually heavily dedicated to the teams they are a part of. That said, it's common sense to join something that has a much higher chance to succeed than something that's technically a gamble. In reality, I would have done the same in his position. I just hope that mTw will somehow still continue as I do not wish for their project to die.

I understand what you mean to say though, unfortunately, those trolls have apparently more spare time than the site staff, including myself. Still, and I am aware of its limitations as some issues that may pop up are more sensitive than others, in the past I have suggested to users to pay as little attention as possible to those trolls; as long as you give them what they so desperately want there will be posts of this nature. Just report them and afterwards ignore them while the report is dealt with. In the end it is hard for the staff to log out of our real lives and pretty futile to hope for the trolls to login into theirs.

There are even "normal" users joining the trolls in order to 'have fun', due to 'boredom' etc. Thus in the end the pain is even self-inflected. Also note, in case you didn't know, that part of the staff are volunteers making the 'real life' part even more difficult. Therefore to learn, if one doesn't already know, to 'defend' oneself with the tools at one's disposal should be a option to be considered.

Most logical career path to take at his age but it's a huge disappointment nonetheless. Not sure if this move would mean burning bridges with the mTw guys. It's sad because zonic was mTw.
