Astralis discuss offers, salaries

In an interview for, Nicolai "device" Reedtz and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth discuss the offers they received after leaving TSM, and their current salaries.

In the announcement of the creation of Astralis it was made clear that the new organization would endorse players explicitly discussing their salaries and overall financial situation.

The average salary of Astralis over 2016 will reach around $9,000 per month

Astralis has just released an interview with two of their players, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and Nicolai "device" Reedtz, to ask about the offers they have received during their time without an organization, as well as their salaries for 2016 and more.

"We received a lot of crazy offers in the off-season, and if I remember correctly the biggest offer was around $10,000 dollar salary with a very high signing bonus and the possibility of revenue share after being in the organization for a few years. Also obviously 100% prize- and sticker money." Reedtz said in the interview.

While it will apparently take some time to reach such an amount with their freshly created organization, the average salary over 2016 will be quite similar, about $9,000 per month, according to Xyp9x:

"All the players are paid $9,000 per month. This is a monthly average during the next 12 months. We actually start out a bit lower and end up a bit higher due to salary increases over the year."

The two players also answered questions about their reasoning behind creating a new organization, why transparency is important to them, and differences between their previous organizations and the current one.

$9k per month for all players. $1.8k for each player every month. Still quite a lot of money considering they can also make money from tournaments, stickers and autographes.
2016-01-20 09:02
mate , its 9K pr. player. so they each get 9000$
2016-01-20 15:33
Then it's absolutely amazing for them. They make $9k per month for just doing what they are supposed to do, not including the money from the stickers and autographes, and the tournaments' money :D
2016-01-20 16:09
It's 9k for ALL players, not EACH player...
2016-01-20 18:49
for each players, yes. They got an offer for 10K$ for each, why would the say no to that, and then only get like 1.6K$ from their own org?

Good question thought the same but they they wrote it actually means its 9k for all 5 players which is around $1600 per player a month which is not a lot in certain parts of the world like canada for instance. I personally pay around $800 a month only cause ive been leaving at my place for around 10 years now but since im moving out this summer and i still want a clean cute place it might jump to 1k a month just for rent but of course it depends on people and how lucky you are finding something cheap that eill also be nice and clean but not sure about denmark. I guiss since some of them still live with their parents i guess its a lot of money just for one person unless their parents ask for a share for living :)
2016-01-19 17:10
No, reet. All the players are paid aka all the individuals involved are paid 9K respectively.
2016-01-19 17:25
Since when does all = each? There is a clear distinction between dividing between ALL and players EACH having 9k. The 9k is split between the 5
2016-01-20 19:03
Why the hell would they do that? Not enough for fucking rent let alone food and other bills.
2016-01-21 12:47
100 percent prize money and sticker money? Plus it's not like they're completely broke and they only have that 1.8k to live off of. They have plenty of money to start with and the 1.8k will help sustain them. I'm pretty sure they have a gaming house too. If it does end up being 9k each then ima kill myself
2016-01-21 20:07
If they got offers with 10K ea its fucking dumb to settle for 1,8K. 1,8K aint shit, literally below toilet cleaner.
2016-01-21 20:20
Average income in Denmark is 4000 € So I doubt they would play CS every day for only 1.6 k They would have to live with their parents...
2016-01-19 17:40
obviously they would play a video game for that much dude...
2016-01-19 17:43
I meant that if they got offers for 10k € for salary, they wouldn't make a org and only earn 1.6k....
2016-01-19 17:50
pff, why not. They dont have to deal with shit, And they will get offers as they go
2016-01-19 18:48
i play everyday and dont earn shit for it
2016-01-19 17:47

2016-01-19 22:02

2016-01-19 22:24 The average net income in DK is 2683Euros
2016-01-20 11:45
23000 dkk = 3000 eur
2016-01-20 13:00
i get 3700 euro, but that is before the 44% taxes we have in dk oh and i dk every Things cost way More
2016-01-20 10:07
But they get 100% of prize money and sticker money. That alone could easily be over the average income in denmark.
2016-01-19 22:38
+ the 9k each per month
2016-01-20 01:25
Exactly. They're living well beyond what is considered average in their country and it's for playing a fucking video game. I would much rather be in their position rather than making a million per year doing something I hate.
2016-01-20 02:06
2016-01-20 19:01
As I understood it's 9k each. But even if it's 1.6k>sauce each, it still doesn't include sticker and prize money, so they would still earn well above average. Plus, it's their own orga, so value of it will increase over time (if it doesn't close).
2016-01-19 23:18
average in switzerland is almost 7k euros
2016-01-21 10:42
Xyp9x: In terms of salary: $10,000/m per player. But that was excluding bonuses. so 9k for errrrrrbody
2016-01-19 17:58
It's per match not month Kappa
2016-01-20 08:46

2016-01-19 16:49
nice joke
2016-01-19 17:17
that actually true, they dont earn more than an actual swede with a decent job. and i doubt they payout 9k$ per month to each player. i wouldnt if you check their lan history, chokes every final/semi
2016-01-19 17:36
If you count prize money. Every fnatic player got 15+ k Dollars every month. ` Not earning more as an actual swede?
2016-01-19 17:48
you really have to be stupid to think that nip players would stay on nip if they were only being paid 2k
2016-01-19 18:15
3-4k then... still this contract of ex tsm is probably by far the best (i can imagine gamers2 have pretty high salary aswell).
2016-01-19 18:19
there have been times on by the numbers they alluded to numbers similar to this, i dont think this contract is by far and away the best.
2016-01-20 00:09
Fnatic players earn a lot of money more than NIP the last 2 years
2016-01-19 17:44
I would say Fnatic get 3k per month and NiP 2k.
2016-01-19 18:37
IDIOT! I don't know if you're stupid or just doesn't have a brain.
2016-01-19 21:27

2016-01-19 21:33
although the kid is flaming, he is right. In sweden 2k is paid for a shit job, so no way prof. players get paid so low. do ur research before writing stupid things.
2016-01-20 15:13
You're same as him. I did my research. NiP, fnatic and TSM were talking about their salary for a video. TSM had the best salary in 2015, which was 4k, and Fnatic and NiP had aroud 3k. So please stfu.
2016-01-20 15:49

2016-01-23 16:11
You'd be surprised how low the real salary is ;)
2016-01-19 21:50
Fnatic players, from org get at around 3000$ + 100% of money from event. NiP get like 2000$, + 90% of money from events.
2016-01-19 16:52
Spain Ayrr
Pretty sure both Fnatic and NiP players get paid so much more than that after signing the new contracts. Specially Fnatic.
2016-01-19 16:57
You're probably right, but they were getting these amounts in 2015.
2016-01-19 16:57
You don't know that.
2016-01-19 17:16
There was an interview, in which TSM, Fnatic and NiP were discussing about salaries.
2016-01-19 17:17
In 2015, NiP was getting about 4k, Fnatic about the same too.
2016-01-19 17:30
Nope, TSM was most paid organization, which was giving 4k€/month
2016-01-19 17:31
yeah so i doubt a no name org will give the tsm players 9k$/m
2016-01-19 17:37
If im not mistaken, a millonaire invested in them, and some other corps.
2016-01-19 17:38
still doubt it, okay if it was fnatic... but chokenitas?
2016-01-19 17:38
Idk if you're retarded or simply can't read. Big investors are getting into esports, Astralis (?) are backed by a millionaire who pays their salary.
2016-01-19 18:20
expected from a danne, if i ware smart i wouldnt invest in a team that's never gonna win anything big. aka that millionaire, will regret that he signed that team or spent the money on them when he will never get anything from it.
2016-01-19 19:12
Fakewinland, you are probably the most ignorant/retarded/Jelly guy walking on 2 legs. Gtfo get yourself a job and then uninstall cs.
2016-01-19 20:11
already have a job that probably pays more than yours xD, im not jelly, just pointing out facts that if i ware the "millionarie" i would never invest in a team that chokes on lan events
2016-01-19 20:35
Do u think millionaire investors make benefit from prize winnings? if so, I won't argue with you.
2016-01-20 14:02
ofc they do but im argueing about if this is true this millionaire guy that invested in tsm is either a delusional fanboy of them or just plain stupid as he will not earn that money back in anyway
2016-01-20 16:38
Do u seriously think a millionaire investor cares about the 100k$ prize pot a tournamend could have? Their target are the mass, the fanbase. They are millionaire investors, their target is the market like every other org. An org nowadays doesn't make their revenue from prizes lmfao
2016-01-20 16:56
yes and just investing in a team because of a fan base is kinda stupid isnt it? this world is about money. thats what investments is for. MAKEING SOMETHING OUT IF IT. what this guy did is burning about 108k dollar on a year and getting nothing in return. except a team that will choke on lan. argue how much u want i wont change my opinion.
2016-01-20 17:26
Ofc it is about making money, that's why they invested and that's what they gonna do. But they won't make money from tournament prizes u dumbfuck, that's not their main goal and the prize money nowadays 100% goes to the players pocket.
2016-01-20 17:28
your not looking in the long term... sponsors will loose interest in a team if they keep chokeing=investor not making money=fans no longer follow them as much just look at the nip hype=no payd salaries. edit:i think its funny that we edit posts every time
2016-01-20 17:32
Well, that's true. But look at NiP, they got a big fanbase even if they aren't winning.
2016-01-20 18:24
but its not as huge as it was and thats probably why steelseries left them same with benq.
2016-01-20 18:31
Probably because they had better deals with Eizo and logitech.
2016-01-20 18:34
nip is not sponsored by logitech but yeah might be but it could also be my theory
2016-01-20 20:10
Jelly much? Huehuehue
2016-01-19 19:41
nah, just pointing out facts. sounds ridiculous to reward chokenitas with that salary
2016-01-19 20:35
You're so salty.
2016-01-19 21:29
might be true but it makes no sense giving them such a salary
2016-01-19 21:53
Provide some facts in your comments lol, typical HLTV noname acting like he knows stuff. When TSM said how much they were getting paid, NiP CEO responded with " Our players get more and 90% of all prizemoney "
2016-01-19 19:54
HLTV noname, thats good.
2016-01-19 19:56
stop spreading lies m8 the delusional ppl on here rofl
2016-01-20 11:26
i think NIP earn about 50% of what astralis gets, an fnatic moree than NIP but a couple 2-3k$ less than astralis. im pretty sure this is the highest base salery in cs:go to date.
2016-01-20 14:00
Aaaaaaand where the fk did you get these numbers? None of the fnatic or NIP players, as far as i'm concerned, have spoken publicy about their contracts and salaries? You're all just making numbers up.
2016-01-19 19:10

It was since they signed their contracts with Kinguin. After that G2 got the team with sponsorship by Kinguin. In statement kinguin as their ex organisation said that the contracts are resigned with the same "rules". So I assume the that includes the same salary.

2016-01-19 18:32
Rofl NO WAY g2 gets anywhere close to 10k$ 100% sure.
2016-01-20 14:01
People on here are too easily impressed. It's a good living, but really not all that impressive.
2016-01-19 16:51
it is impressive that you earn this much for playing a game, feels little bit odd. since the average salary is much lower
2016-01-19 16:56
Yeah you're right, it's a lot for playing a video game for sure.
2016-01-19 16:58
for example my salary is 4000€ a month so they earn more than twice than me :( FeelsBadMan
2016-01-19 17:00
No matter what you or really any of us do there will always be someone making more. I don't think that's anything to be too sad about, it's just the way it is.
2016-01-19 17:02
true that
2016-01-19 17:04
Bill Gates says otherwise TriHard
2016-01-19 17:17
Well, u get 4x the average salary from my country ;p
2016-01-19 17:08
2016-01-19 18:17
why would it feel bad they are in the best 50-100 people in the world on their field of profession i mean if u were in the same league of your profession's u would earn more pro rata
2016-01-19 20:13
Think about it like may sound much but pro gamer is nothing you can do over the next 20 of course salaries have to be high
2016-01-19 17:42
It's you and me who are just playing the game. They train everyday to be among the best in the world, they have to be in good shape no matter what when it comes to a tournament. + constant travels make their job much harder. Travelling for LANs is not as much fun as many think. So don't say that they are just playing the game.
2016-01-19 19:46
yeah i know but its still a fucking video game that they are playing and they get shitloads of money. and cs pros dont even get much compared to other games. its just fucking weird imo
2016-01-21 15:28
Slovakia Dui
Depends on where you live. Here, where people usually get 500-600€ after taxes, well this is a dreamworld salary.
2016-01-19 17:11
20% taxes 2stronk...
2016-01-19 17:26
i dont even get that much..
2016-01-19 18:56
this is salary btw... they make an extra 200k+ each from stickers/prizemoney
2016-01-19 17:18
I see people throwing out all these random numbers when talking about what players earn from sticker money. It's clear that no one really knows how much they actually make.
2016-01-19 17:20
i mean just do the math yourself. valve said 9 million went to players/orgs this year. ex-tsm are one of the more popular teams so they'll obviously get a larger cut than the average team but we'll just imagine a scenario where everybody gets an equal cut. so 9 million/16 = 562500 from sticker money for the team. we know that the players get to keep all the sticker money so that's 112500 per player from sticker money alone. for prize pool you can do the same thing. ex-tsm made 500k from tournaments. that's 100k per player. so add them both together and you have over 200k from stickers/prize money now go fuck yourself
2016-01-19 17:25
You're doing a whole lot of assuming. There could easily be many other factors.
2016-01-19 17:27
god don't be so stupid
2016-01-19 18:14
jesus christ youre thick
2016-01-20 11:30
in either late 2014 or early 2015, it was stated as fact that players were making between 40-50K each from sticker money from majors.
2016-01-19 17:35
Now that seems more realistic
2016-01-19 17:36
That has definitely doubled or even tripled since csgo has almost quadrupled the player base since then and events get 3 times the unique viewers from late 2014 to now
2016-01-19 19:19
Remember that it's their base salary, on top of that they get tournament wins, sticker money and sponsorships.
2016-01-19 18:21
Yeah the tournament and sticker money will definitely add a ton to their base salary.
2016-01-19 18:33
holy fuuuuuuuck
2016-01-19 16:51
2016-01-19 16:52
Spain Ayrr
$$$$$$$, ~10k$ monthly + bonus + prize + sticker money, we can be talking about atleast easy 500k$ yearly by playing. Not including the possibility of streaming as well. I guess deserved, gz, the dream becoming true.
2016-01-19 16:55
9k per month to just play this game , is dream 4 all people gamers in the world. gg
2016-01-19 16:54
And how exactly are they planning to make over 50k a month? (Xyp best baiter ingame and rl lol)
2016-01-19 16:55
Right now they don't need to, investors have thrown in a lot of money to pay out salaries etc.
2016-01-19 17:03
I tought about that and I don't think that that money is enough if they invested own money, ofc I hope that the 9k are real, but meh, I'm not convinced. On the other hand it's obvious that most teams don't give their players enough money (too many sharks in the esports industry, the mTw Manager was the best example)
2016-01-19 19:17
They are being backed by a legitimate multi-millionaire (he is know for backing young innovative projects) and another investment company who does the same. This is not some scam person, he is well known and respected within the danish investment business. There are sharks, but for most organizations it is all about having income > expenses. You don't think it is enough? They will have an income that far exceeds 200.000 USD a year. That's A LOT more than I make working a full time job as a project manager with a lot more responsibility and running projects in the millions.
2016-01-19 19:31
holy fuck, playing cs professionally isnt a joke. didnt know that they earn this much + all the sticker money, prize money and stream donations and subs. wtf seriously
2016-01-19 16:55
Ofc they earn much...its a job you can only do for a short time so it has to pay to be attractive. Thats also why there are so few teams from countries like germany etc...their orgs dont pay enough to play fulltime without having to attend a normal job
2016-01-19 17:46
inb4 never get to the finals. never win a major. but still millionaires in 5 years
2016-01-19 16:56
"We received a lot of crazy offers in the off-season, and if I remember correctly the biggest offer was around $10,000 dollar salary with a very high signing bonus and the possibility of revenue share after being in the organization for a few years. Also obviously 100% prize- and sticker money." Reedtz said in the interview. I WANT TO BE PRO PLAYER RIGHT NOW, G2 PICK ME IM BETTER THAN FOX FOR SURE
2016-01-19 16:56
Bro u have to understand that CSGO is already 3-4(?) years old? It won't last forever. Couple more years, maybe 1 or 2, then another game will be there to master.
2016-01-19 17:11
lol is 6 years old and is the bigger e-sport if u are talking about other cs version that wont be in 1 or 2 years even not in 3 o 4
2016-01-19 17:15
Nah, stuff is more serious and professional right now. Talking about CSGO or LoL nowadays is just like talking about football or basketball. There are already established markets, bet houses, etc If somehting in that way happens, I predict it to happen way way later, not 1 or 2 years from now, but atleast a couple of large years. Even if that happens, it will be mostly the same (improved) game.
2016-01-19 17:24
Cs:go is 4 years old, competitive CS is older than the average COD player xD
2016-01-19 19:19
this is ex-TSM, I wonder how much fnatic gets.....
2016-01-19 16:57
mad scrilla
2016-01-19 16:58
without alphadraft? fucking heresy))))
2016-01-19 18:01
They get to choose their team name and they end up with astralis? :< meh Other than that, this is fucking huge!! They set up an org and if they manage it right they can expand and make even more €€€.
2016-01-19 16:59
2016-01-19 16:59
2016-01-19 17:59
thank mr adam
2016-01-19 18:00
With all of the talks of unionisation and player rights, going transparent is a great way to go. Good on the Danes.
2016-01-19 16:59
this is just smoke to put pressure on other orgs because the average salary for a pro player is 5000-6000$ a month, even for fnatic, they get bonuses and other money, but the salary is static
2016-01-19 17:00
Ok holy fucking shit, time to go pro
2016-01-19 17:00
fuck youi<!!!!!!
2016-01-19 19:38
Jesus, they make more than I do.... gg Frede!
2016-01-19 17:01
wow 9k per month, not bad
2016-01-19 17:01
good money
2016-01-19 17:05
Ez money
2016-01-19 17:05
108000$ a year what the actual fuck
2016-01-19 17:09
The salary increases every month, if it was 9k$ all the time they would've gone for that 10k$ org.
2016-01-19 17:20
wow nice :|
2016-01-19 17:11
At 9k/month each they make more than I do...I should just go full cs...not in NA though doesn't work that way.
2016-01-19 17:11
the real astralis are bloodR, GuA, tihOp, NicoustiE, diGitaL & myssE. END
2016-01-19 17:14
ikr wtf are they thinking?
2016-01-19 19:26
9k$ for doing nothing? Very nice, rofl ahahaa
2016-01-19 17:16
Haha go back to your 9-5 you salty jelly subhuman.
2016-01-19 18:37

2016-01-19 20:01
Dream job confirmed
2016-01-19 17:19
They made the right call, congratulations to them all, successful as fuck and none of them are even in their 30s.
2016-01-19 17:21
wow insane money
2016-01-19 17:22
By creating our own thing, we can help grow the business and transition into another role in the organization when we are done competing. -Xyp9x smart And I know a lot of people hoped that we would join an existing organization, but with this solution you don’t have to follow a CoD-team too :P hahaha
2016-01-19 17:25
9k dollar/month for never winning tournaments nice.
2016-01-19 17:26
"And I know a lot of people hoped that we would join an existing organization, but with this solution you don’t have to follow a CoD-team too 😉 cya in Leipzig!" Ayy Xyp9x
2016-01-19 17:26
$9.000 / 5 = $1.800 for ea player. Actually not that big
2016-01-19 17:26
2016-01-19 17:29
bad b8, or just retard toilet cleaner.
2016-01-19 17:30
"All the players are paid $9,000 per month. imho it means, they each take 9k per month, but my englando is bad.
2016-01-19 17:30
im really happy for them, they deserve it.
2016-01-19 17:26
BUT HOW?! They just won't win 45k each month + salaries for manager and coach ... They would have to win like all 250k tournaments in the entire year to be able to have a payout like this
2016-01-19 17:30
They will find sponsors like steelseries and such maybe
2016-01-19 17:39
danish investors has throw a lot of money in this project
2016-01-19 17:51
^This :ddd
2016-01-19 20:30
i wonder how much the fnatic players earn, it must be more!
2016-01-19 17:30
not even close, fnatic makes like 5k a month each max.
2016-01-19 17:41
They make less thats 4sho. i think its a safe bet to say that this is the highest payed team to date!
2016-01-20 14:15
Too much for choker team. Cant even reach major final.
2016-01-19 17:32
Holy shit, that's a lot!
2016-01-19 17:34
gl Astralis
2016-01-19 17:35
a lot of salary there
2016-01-19 17:37
They dont deserve salaries like this. No majors won, always choking etc.
2016-01-19 17:41
True, you deserve it more Kappa
2016-01-19 19:14
What about zonic, how much he gets?
2016-01-19 17:41
I need dollar $ dollar, dollar
2016-01-19 17:43
its like 6lac in indian rs which is far more an yearly package of top professionals ... or more to say the basic package of 3 years for an individual ...
2016-01-19 17:45
I CHOKED when I realized the amount of $$$ they got offered. Kappa
2016-01-19 17:45
This aint public thread to talk about tho
2016-01-19 17:45
oh my god
2016-01-19 17:48
9000 a month, i think they get paid more than a freaking lawyer :( must be a video game and make so much money
2016-01-19 17:49
lucky bitches
2016-01-19 17:53
vp is like them, only csgo 5 fathers team fathers.cs
2016-01-19 17:53
People write here that they wonder how much fnatic or nip players make, well, not much, getright and f0rest live with their gfs in some random studio flat. Would you live there with salary over 5k? Dont think so
2016-01-19 17:55
9k but Steam Wallet dollars xd
2016-01-19 17:57
2016-01-19 17:59
Isnt "Astralis" the original name of the old Insignia Cadre team in source?
2016-01-19 18:02
Chill guys. Now its been said many times that it's a great salary, and it is. However, this is their salary before taxes. Taxes on income in Denmark is huge. With their base salary, they'll have to pay 56% taxes. That leaves the salary at $3960, which is slightly above the average Danish income. Sure, add sponsorships, prize and sticker money, they'll do fine.
2016-01-19 18:02
Income is calculated BEFORE taxes and the average income in Denmark is around 38.850 DKK (5.674 $) They get 61.614 DKK (9.000$). That's allready 58% higher than the average wage. Add to that their 470.000 $ in winnings, and maybe 100.000 $ in sticker money, bonuses and streaming money, and you are way way beyond the average income.
2016-01-19 20:08
Sorry to burst your bubble but income tax is progressive in Denmark.
2016-01-20 08:52
10k a month living the dream
2016-01-19 18:01
still worse than tier 2 basketball/hockey player in US.
2016-01-19 18:04
Really? They will make around 500k each this year. Is that less than tier 2 hockey players? There are NHL players who make less than that.
2016-01-19 18:38
the org offering 10k/month mustve been faze
2016-01-19 18:02
''Xyp9x: Yes, shoutout to all the fans, you are the reason we can make this happen. And I know a lot of people hoped that we would join an existing organization, but with this solution you don’t have to follow a CoD-team too 😉 cya in Leipzig! '' Lol xyp9x fire those shots haha
2016-01-19 18:07
so if $9000 a month is the low point then the high point will probably be 10k a month upwards, that's basically living the dream for them.
2016-01-19 18:08
$9k will be the average salary, not the low point.
2016-01-19 18:13
We actually start out a bit lower and end up a bit higher due to salary increases over the year. implying that $9k a month is the starting salary/low point and that the salary will increase over the year.
2016-01-19 18:15
"All the players are paid $9,000 per month. This is a monthly average during the next 12 months"
2016-01-19 18:26
oh I didn't see that in there, thanks lol.
2016-01-19 18:27
2016-01-19 18:28
holy fööck 9k to play a game
2016-01-19 18:09
Now FaZe sign Pronax's team, save $7k and still have a T2 team. Good for them.
2016-01-19 18:11
faze give 3k a month to cod players?
2016-01-19 18:23
I don't think so... Why ?
2016-01-19 18:34
wtf u just said faze would save 7k $ so i assumed u said that cause faze cod team got 2-3k $ a month
2016-01-19 18:42
Why are you even talking about the COD team ? Apparently they offered $10k to this team, i said they could get Pronax's team for $3k.
2016-01-19 23:23
2016-01-19 18:11
not bad
2016-01-19 18:15
9k is fucking alot. I would be happy to get 2k a month if I was a pro.
2016-01-19 18:19
they probably get like 4k a month after taxes in Denmark like someone else said higher up in this thread.
2016-01-19 18:28
Yeah that's right, but still way better than average wages. Plus all the prize, sticker and streaming money they will be making a very nice amount!
2016-01-19 22:26
fox receives 10k+bonus minimum wage in Portugal is 600€ pretty good, never tought they win so much.
2016-01-19 18:24
2016-01-19 19:11
rip FaZe dream
2016-01-19 18:24
thats a fcking lot for playing games but atleast they dont hide it(i app\rove that)
2016-01-19 18:30
In the old days the football players got paid so little many of them had to have a full time job in the off season. Took a very long time before pro sports athletes actually started getting rich. Esports is growing much faster.
2016-01-20 04:53
Its "devve". Not "device". Fucking hltv get yourself updated. Kappa
2016-01-19 18:46
devve Kappa nickname main nickname device but nt cold and boring country person
2016-01-19 19:45

2016-01-20 14:21
it will stop when they reach 16k because u just cant have more
2016-01-19 18:50
2016-01-19 19:42
2016-01-19 20:13
Ukraine bia
Now, nobody will be surprised that Guardian was offered $20000 per month
2016-01-19 18:50
i think they should have made a topic on hltv for their fans and discuss nametag..same as NA`vi did in 2009.cause this astralis tag is pretty weird
2016-01-19 18:51
9k a month and they are like "starting money"...
2016-01-19 18:53
Omg so they say 10 where thier highest offer bout now they will recive 9 and raise with time do somehow thier current salary is thier highest hehe clever boys from dk 60 THUSIND OM MÅNEDEN FOR AT RIVE DEN AF OG SPIL CS FUCK JER HELDIG SVIN MAN
2016-01-19 19:00
how much is that manager getting? Surely he must also receive a salary and perhaps 16% cut of the prize money?
2016-01-19 19:03
Fast money. You can just rob something, same shit.
2016-01-19 19:06
amazing. so smart of them, it makes so much sense. really sets up a possible retirement plan for all of them and takes a lot of superficial pressures off of them.
2016-01-19 19:07
9k$ / month ???!!! this is disgusting as fuck ....
2016-01-19 19:15
Nice, good for those guys! :)
2016-01-19 19:27
Congratulations for them, they have an own eSports org and they're getting 9k each plus the money from the sponsors, the stickers, what they could win in tournaments while they're traveling around the world, GG WP :D
2016-01-19 19:34
110k a year in salary is fucking comfy for not winning a major
2016-01-19 19:34
gl and stop choking
2016-01-19 19:35
+aizy and they not gonna choke :p
2016-01-19 19:43
Stop eating poop. There are top doctors paid 10 000 euro a month. A Marketing manager in NY can earn up to 120 000$ a year. A cs go player cannot earn the same amount of money. The company does not have that amount of money to throw away. The company would have to pay 50 000 euro after tax... including tax, depending on country could vary... Am guessing it would be around 75 000 euro a month... So you have to cover that cost AND MAKE SOME MONEY! I would really like to see the annexe of the contract where it specifies their pay.
2016-01-19 19:45
Tommy Ahlers has hundreds of MILLIONS of Euros, if he's passionate about this, i don't think he has a problem paying this amount of money.
2016-01-20 19:50
9000 dollars or euros?
2016-01-19 19:48
Says dollars everywhere
2016-01-19 19:49
you're right. maybe i asked it because it said "10,000 dollars", but didn't say anything about the 9,000. i assumed it was 9,000 dollars, but i wanted to make sure hahahha thanks anyway
2016-01-19 19:51
or danish monies
2016-01-19 19:49
Well my comment was right as fuck no org but this dumb af astralis one took the bait these guys trying to get wayyyy more than their worth ROFL. This won't last long anyway maybe one year max, TQM are not good enough for anyone to pay them this much long term unless they install cheats and actually start winning shit which won't happen cause they're pussies.
2016-01-19 20:03
You are legitimately cancer.
2016-01-19 20:31
fanboy + nature hater, continue pls
2016-01-19 20:40
I hate trolls and people who are negative for the sake of being negative, which is exactly what you are. You baited me first, but not again - have fun with your cancer.
2016-01-19 20:46
Most people don't know how sports work. How do you think they can afford to give some baseball players 120 million dollar contract. Because they pull in money for the org. People buy their jerseys and other products. Some pro sports teams have never made it to the finals but still pay their players millions per year. The worst NFL team out there could have the highest payed player.
2016-01-20 04:58
wow so good for bad team who never won anything big tbh
2016-01-19 20:33
2016-01-19 20:50

2016-01-20 14:25

2016-01-20 17:53
2016-01-20 19:57
2016-01-20 20:56
2016-01-19 20:50
Money, money, money.
2016-01-19 21:30
9k a month is more than 100,000 a year. very good money for just playing a awesome video game if you ask me.
2016-01-19 21:34
now they have an excuse for not winning any lan, they get big salary anyway
2016-01-19 21:55
well read the interview, the are directly impacting their salaries and budget depending on how they perform (better sponsors, better deals etc etc) Astralis isnt Cloud9 where they are expected to suck

How can any organization afford to pay $~45k a month (9k x 5 players). What is in it for the organization? How do they make revenue??

You see those logos on their shirts? - money. Intel, benq, Western Digital just to name a few. There is a whole business built around exposure of those brands to MASS Viewers during tournaments. That's just a quick thought.

First of all, congrats to them - they are some of the nicest guys on the stage and I wish them only the best. Altho' its a nice salary, people seem to forget the amount of time and sacrifies, that goes into being a topplayer. The average dane works 37 hours a week, so if you need to comepare payment, please keep in mind that a CSGO player is more likely to use 100+ hours a week on this. Further more, most of them (not talking about Astralis in particular), is set with a short termed job, that isnt making them anywhere near enough to last for ever. Living the dream, sure! But at a great expense and sacrifies.

I think I would always prefer a job doing what I love, even if it demands more hours.

Of course, but you can get a job that you love, that allows you to earn the same pr hour and have time for your family and friends :) I'm just saying, that its not all dreams and fairy dust - these guys have their work cut out for them.
