The first elimination match was a Group B face-off between the Russian-Belarussian team of Binary Dragons and the Ukrainian eXplosive squad, with Gregory "balblna" Oleinick the rest of Binary narrowly edging out eXplosive 16-14 on de_mirage.

Method ultimately triumped by winning 2-0 (16-11 on de_train and 16-14 on de_dust2) but the Russian team struggled on both maps, nearly losing a 12-3 advantage on train due to Quest's defenses and having to put up a better T-side than Quest had done on de_dust2. Ivan "spaze" Obrezhan was instrumental in his team's playoff bid.
