dignitas to GE Cup final over CLG

dignitas are through to the grand final of the Game Show Global eSports Cup after defeating CLG 2-0 (16-10 on de_overpass and 16-14 on de_cobblestone).

Overpass began with CLG, who started off on the Terrorist side, winning the pistol round following an A push, with Stephen "reltuC" Cutler defending the bomb with a well-placed molotov. The North Americans followed it up with the corresponding anti-ecos and managed to carry that momentum into the first gun round, which they won thanks to three crucial entry frags by Josh "jdm64" Marzano.

It was only when dignitas were down 0-5 that they finally managed to tighten up their defense, but they did so just in time to go on a massive run that saw them win nine of the next ten rounds to take a three-round lead into the break.

Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke went huge in the pistol round on the Terrorist side and won a 1vs3 clutch, which allowed dignitas to extend their lead to 12-6. The Danish team continued to press and brought the scoreline to 15-6, and even though CLG put together a small run of rounds, it just was not enough to scare the Danes, who ran out 16-10 victors.

k0nfig was in stunning form on Overpass

Cobblestone was the map that followed, and here teams took turns stringing some rounds together as neither side could stamp their authority on the game. On two occasions, dignitas threatened to run away with the lead, but CLG kept crawling back into the game and managed to reduce the deficit to 7-8 at the end of the half.

In the second half, reltuC delivered the pistol round to CLG on a silver platter with four kills, but dignitas rallied back right after. The game then entered a chaotic period as teams traded round for round, with dignitas coming out on top and bringing the scoreline to 12-9. CLG managed to mount a comeback and tied the game at 14-14, forcing a timeout from dignitas, who would make one final push to win the last two rounds.

seriously? You think NBK is this stupid? Maniac is the one calling. And he mis-called literally every retake on inferno. NBK has historically always been the one with the "weird" buys of AUG, Negev, etc. That nV is double saving on CT side tells you it's not NBK calling. Maniac's dumbass is the one coaching every single wrong rotate.

Dignitas playing godly, ez win against NV
2016-02-06 23:53
Despite all the talent and firepower, dignitas still miss that small frame between a very good team and a champion-level team. Envy will most likely turn the champion-gear ON for this final, which is a shame cause I would LOVE to see dignitas win!
2016-02-06 23:55
Yeah but considering how young they all are they have alot of promise. =D
2016-02-06 23:57
They sure do! I find depressing how retarded this community is tho, instead of giving props to both teams for the excelent game, they are witch-hunting dignitas for cheating. Its a shame how stupid this community is :\
2016-02-06 23:59
HLTV is just pure witch hunting on the most unsuspicious clips. It doesn't even make sense to me. Sometimes I think the entire community is trolling but I know that there are people who actually mean what they say.

Considering how good Dig is right now two close maps like that is really impressive for CLG. C9 disappointed heavily here, but the coming year seems like it'll be a fight for #1 NA between Liquid and CLG
2016-02-06 23:55
Honestly, CLG have been the major surprise of this tournament. Everyone knew dignitas has alot of talent, ALOT of firepower and its only a matter of time before they took the next step. But CLG is performing like I havent seen any NA team since c9 fluke-streak. Very impressive, fugly and pita bring alot to the team.

Until we see Liquid with S1mple we cant say for sure but what Cutler said about becoming the best in NA could very well happen if they keep playing like this.
2016-02-06 23:57
I think Liquid have better players skill-wise if we look at individual skill only, but for some reason i think CLG will function alot better as a whole. Lets wait and see!

the only setback for Liquid will be adreN, he's gonna need to prove himself as a star IGL for Liquid to work, CLG may not have star players like Hiko or S1mple but they are all relatively consistent and with pita cooling them off their stratbook will only get better, where S1mple may cause TL to implode mid round.
2016-02-07 00:04
Exactly, I feel like s1mple is a major questionmark..
2016-02-07 00:08
Right now #CLGNAHope, but we need to see a liquid match to make sure.
