RobbaN joins FaZe as coach
FaZe Clan have brought on board CS 1.6 luminary Robert 'RobbaN' Dahlström as their official coach.
Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström is a name familiar to anyone who has been immersed in Counter-Strike since the mid 2000's and onward, as the Swedish player was part of hard hitting lineups such as Begrip, NiP, and most famously SK Gaming.
RobbaN's playing days fizzled out in an SK lineup which also featured the likes of Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, and Marcus "Delpan" Larsson and which managed to win DreamHack Summer, GameGune, IEM VI Global Challenge New York, and ESWC in 2011 before shortly falling apart a few months later.
RobbaN won numerous trophies in SK Gaming during the mid-late 1.6 era
Whereas teammates GeT_RiGhT and f0rest went off to form the legendary NiP outfit that came to dominate CS:GO in the game's early days, RobbaN briefly tried his hand before hanging up his mouse for good.
The Swede was however spotted in the final months of 2015 both streaming the game and playing in various mixes for qualifiers including the ESL Nordic Nationals with other known players such as Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström and Fredrik "slap" Junbrant.
And while he will not be a player in this latest announcement, it still seems that RobbaN is not done with Counter-Strike for good as he will now be the head coach for FaZe Clan, a lineup currently ranked 10th best in the world.
The FaZe lineup is now:
Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström (coach)
FaZe's next deployment with their new coach will be in early March at IEM Katowice and afterwards at CS:GO's next major, MLG Columbus 2016.
