Team YP add CSGL duo for Columbus
Team YP will attend the offline qualifier for MLG Columbus with CSGL duo Paweł "innocent" Mocek and Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamałek as stand-ins, Vladislav "arch" Svistov has told HLTV.org.
The Russian team had been on the lookout for two last-minute replacements for the event, which starts on Friday, after Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko and Dmitriy "Dima" Bandurka were both denied visas to enter the United States.
Both Paweł "innocent" Mocek and Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamałek have 10-year, multiple-entry visas and were in the US only last month at ELEAGUE's Road To Las Vegas, where CSGL were defeated by OpTic Gaming 0-2.
innocent will be Team YP's IGL in Columbus
innocent will be taking on the role of ingame leader at the event in a bid to help the team cause a major upset in a group that also includes Team Liquid, mousesports and HellRaisers.
"When our players' visas were declined, we contacted MLG and some other people, but there was no time," Svistov told HLTV.org. "It was very sad because we had the dream of reaching the major with this lineup.
"Then, we started thinking about who could help us play in the USA. I thought we could take players who had played in the last-chance qualifier.
"We decided to ask our Polish mates from CSGL if they could help us, and after some discussions they accepted our offer. I would like to thank CSGL for letting them play for us!
"I hope we will have fun playing with each other and that we can gain some experience. We will do our best to reach the major!"
