Virtus send FaZe packing

Virtus.pro have secured a spot in the quarter-finals of IEM Katowice after seeing off FaZe 16-13 on de_mirage.

FaZe came out strongly in the game and got out to a 3-0 lead before Virtus.pro took the first gun round. FaZe were on the brink of hitting back, which would have severely hurt Virtus' economy, but they made a massive blunder and allowed Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski to do a ninja defuse with the entire team still alive. Virtus.pro went on to take the lead, but that quickly changed as FaZe took a string of rounds themselves.

Down 4-6, Virtus.pro picked up a round as Filip "NEO" Kubski went huge with the AWP and got four kills to his name. The rest of the half was highly contested, with Virtus.pro taking a narrow 8-7 half-time lead.

Virtus.pro advance to the quarter-finals

Virtus further grew their lead by winning the pistol round and the following anti-ecos, with FaZe taking the first gun round. The former G2 team were, however, unable to go on a run of their own as Virtus continued to pick up rounds to keep their opponents' economy in check.

At one point Virtus enjoyed a commanding 13-8 lead and many thought that the game was about to come to a close. FaZe still fought valiantly and brought the scoreline to 13-14, only to fall at the final hurdle as Virtus picked up back-to-back rounds.

they havent played much games this year yet. sure i could use that old argument "theyre still getting used", but i do think they still have a slight margin to improve
2016-03-03 21:15
i respect your opinion , but imo this roster is done.
2016-03-03 21:17
They'll have a good showing at the major and then fox will be removed. Robban has yet to fully get them under his new style. Same can be said with NiP and threat
2016-03-03 21:20
How is this roster done? Did you even watch the game? FaZe played better overall, they just did more crucial mistakes. FaZe even had more kills overall (96 > 90), if it wasn't for a few dumb plays like the 1v5 defuse, they would've won this. FaZe is still a great team, a little bit less of those mistakes and they would be the ones playing in the quarters right now.
2016-03-03 23:07
they dont seem to have improved at all they just lose against the worst vp i remember , and overall his t sides were chaotic , IMO they had enough time to improve , and imo this lineup is done with one or two changes they could be amazing.

Yeah I wonder if they will consider replacing him with someone more consistent or they'll keep on waiting for his form to come back and continue playing 4,5 vs 5
2016-03-03 21:15
A bit funny then that in one of their hardest and closest matches in this tournament, he was the one at top. "For MONTHS!" they said... without watching all the games.
2016-03-03 21:18
just because he was topfragging in one match doesn't make his statement wrong, byali is underperforming hard since esl dubai thats a fact. his raw skill is huge but he can't use it properly
2016-03-03 21:21
Can't really agree with that so called "fact", simply because it isn't a fact, but a point of view. He has been playing badly in about every third game for the past months, but that isn't in line with underperforming for months. That is underperforming in every third game or just a lot of games. Neither does it go back all the way to ESL Dubai since he had a pretty solid tournament at the FACEIT finals. And this isn't just about his performances either, VP has looked incredibly bad compared to their normal standards in the same period, so this doesn't only fall back on byali.
2016-03-03 21:34
hltv.org/?pageid=246&playerid=5386 i guess thats considered fact VP as a whole was quite bad for a longer period of time, but he should be more consistant since he is neither igl, awp or support in this team, they need him to frag and he needs to do that more consistantly he was his outburst where he goes crazy and thats how he still got quite a decent K/D, but overall thats not enough if they want to play for titles again in 2016
2016-03-03 23:50
That is considered stats and represents only a small measure of fact, since stats in it self isn't facts, but only partial facts as everything is situational. I agree that byali should be more consistent, but that is something he never really have been. He has always been a matchup-based player. I agree with your last part, but again, that is something that could be said about most of the players. Pashas just been through the same thing even their go-to guy in Snax has been unstable and not putting up his usual numbers.
