CPH Games qual. groups announced

The qualification groups for the Copenhagen Games 2016 have now been revealed as sixty teams split into groups of four will battle it out for the eight qualification spots.

The Øksnehallen exhibition centre, located in Copenhagen, will be holding the 2016 edition of the Copenhagen Games where €30,000 will be up for grabs. The event will start with an on-site open qualifier on March 23 where eight teams will qualify for the main tournament and will face the eight invited teams.

The qualifier will feature 60 teams that will try to end up in the top two of their groups. After the group stage thirty teams will be left and they will play in a best-of-three knockout stage where in order to qualify, they will have to be one of the last eight teams, meaning a squad must win two best-of-three series to earn a spot.

cadiaN's Preparation are expected to make it to the main tournament

Among the teams in the open qualifier are Preparation which features Casper "cadiaN" Møller and Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström, Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş's Space Soldiers, who hardly ever have a chance to play on LAN, and a South African team Energy.

2016-03-23 15:19
Their best chance to win something was tier 5 tournament called Assembly winter..
2016-03-23 16:14
I guess they didnt win that either? They probably go out 1st round of CPH games. Only Rctic is worse than them
2016-03-23 16:15
i would not be so sure that they are worse than ENCE :P

2016-03-23 15:04
I arent believe this Xantares and co buy expensive tickets, maybe qualify to tier 3 lan and if they qualify they dont get placed high enough and they get 0 prizemoney
2016-03-23 15:05
They came 13-16th last year, so they are pretty used to it. Truth is, there are only a few tier 2-5 offline events out there with competition like this so if you wanna experience the game on LAN and gain experience, CPH Games is the place to be.

they faced tsm and f3 last year so dont blame them for that one
2016-03-23 16:42
Not blaming them for anything. I can only relate to them playing an event like CPH Games even without an invite.
2016-03-23 17:06
should be easy for epsilon

Not really. He did that last year with a 1.38 rating at the event, which is one of the reasons for his high rating at the stats sheet.

Interesting groups, lots of unknown teams. CPH Games has become a joke over the years. It's no longer a big tournament attended by good teams, but rather a place for T3-5 teams to battle it out.
2016-03-23 19:50
Which means it's a good way for unknown, up and coming teams and players to get noticed and show what they can do. Getting into the scene isn't exactly easy. There are so many tournaments where the top teams compete already. Almost one every week for faks sake.
2016-03-24 08:58
