RGN Pro Series II closed quals. begin

Following approximately a month of open qualifiers to the RGN Pro Series II, the closed qualifiers in both North America and Europe have gotten under way.

Open qualifiers to the RGN Pro Series II were announced back in March in anticipation of the Pro Series II tournament which will take place later this year and for which information is still forthcoming, although Tempo Storm are a known qualified team as they won the Winter Classic II back in February.

After a month of action, Bee's Money Crew won the North American open qualifier and thus advanced directly to the Pro Series II whereas the European open qualifier still has three teams in it left standing, with Arcade waiting in the grand final.

The RGN Pro Series II closed qualifiers will last until June

However, since teams finishing in 2nd-9th place (the ninth place match was decided via a best-of-three decider) in both the North American and European brackets officially qualify for the closed qualifiers, the second phase of qualification has begun and will run from April 24-June 6 (some matches have already played out).

The format of the RGN Pro Series II Closed Qualifiers will be a GSL format group stage and then double elimination, best-of-three playoffs. The reward for competing in the closed qualifiers is as follows for both North America and Europe:

1-2. Invite to the Pro Series II
3-8. Invite to the Pro Series II Last Chance Qualifiers

You can find a link to the North American group stage play here whereas the European side has yet to be drawn up and partially depends on the conclusion of the European open qualifier.

this time they better cover the expenses of european teams, and not waste their times trying to win these games. last year they didnt cover them and only 1 out of 8 teams went there, since even the prize pool didnt cover one teams travel expenses.

Nowadays the qualification process is so long, un organized, that teams don't even want to participate. Why can't there just be one qualifier etc, and then finals on LAN?
