DreamHack reveal Austin talent

DreamHack have revealed the talent lineup for the $100,000 Austin tournament running from May 6-8.

DreamHack Austin is set to begin in just under three days with teams such as Luminosity, Liquid, Tempo Storm and more in attendance of the $100,000 tournament.

The talent lineup for the American tournament will consist of a total of eight members, half of which will be new to DreamHack events, as the Swedish organization has just announced.

Weatherman YNk returns

Alex "Machine" Richardson will be joined by Janko "⁠YNk⁠" Paunović as well as a newcomer to the analyst desk, CLG.Red's Stephanie "⁠missharvey⁠" Harvey, while Jason "⁠moses⁠" O'Toole will serve as a commentator alongside John "blu" Mullen and a fairly new duo in Mohan "launders" Govindasami and Joey "heliumbrella" Cunningham.

Meanwhile, Sue "Smix" Lee will return to the DreamHack circuit as the stage host. The full talent lineup is following:

Banter adds to entertainment factor unless you're a butthurt fanboy who gets mad if an analyst shits on your favorite team. As for predictions, the context of analysis is something very important, it's easy for you to make accurate picks, the analysts job includes the historical context of the team, you could have predicted Tempo Storm beating VP at CEVO from a mile away, but due to VP's history on LAN and frequent slumps/dominant periods an analyst with historical knowledge would pick VP, plus the fact that TS is relatively new, and until CEVO relatively unproven. This is just one example but you can apply it to many other incorrect picks from analysts.

What the fuck are events coming to. God there must be so much politics involved and "who knows who" involved with the caster selection for this to happen.. Heliumbrella is probably the #1 worst caster I've ever listened to... I'm not a fan of Machine's desk host performance, since they don't work with RL no more I would say ReDeYe, Sadokist or Chobra are better alternatives. Not to say that there ain't room for Machine in the talent pool, he just feels kinda awkward and sometimes even uncomfortable as a host. I like the Machine + Pansy casting duo tho. Missharvey is a interesting addition tho. EDIT: Just realized that Chobra isn't available because he is doing the DH SC2 tournament :/

People don't understand that the scene is growing while more money are being poured into it. At this point in time a 100k event like this is a small regional (americas) tier2 event that one or two top teams might only accept the invite. Low NA competition, low talent too.
