FeTiSh returns in The Imperial
Henrik 'FeTiSh' Christensen, previously of dignitas fame and a Major semifinalist, has returned in an all-Danish lineup with The Imperial, a newly resurfaced esports organisation.
The Imperial were a Counter-Strike:Source organisation who fielded a Danish lineup back in the 2009-2010 era and included the likes of Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen and Bo "wantz" Vestergaard. These players later on went into CS:GO, where they played together in CPH Wolves and in other ventures alongside the likes of current Astralis players.
FeTiSh then went on to become the in-game leader behind dignitas (and the team came to eventually include four-fifths of the current members of Astralis) and took his teams to a first place finish during the Fragbite Masters Season 2 finals, two semifinals finishes at 2014 Majors (Katowice and Cologne), and two quarter-finals finishes at Majors (DHW 2013 and DHW 2014).
The mastermind of immaculate CT-sides and ungodly T-sides returns
At the end of 2014, FeTiSh was removed from dignitas following a string of poor results as many had correctly identified that the now 29-year-old leader struggled to focus his team during close games, often leading to chokes and meltdowns during playoff matches.
Following a failure to qualify for ESL One Katowice 2015 with another dignitas lineup, FeTiSh went quiet until earlier in this year when he was spotted playing again with friends. With speculation building of the Danish player coming back, his return was officially announced today in a new The Imperial lineup.
As well as the organisation "The Imperial" returning to esports after a five year hiatus, FeTiSh will also reunite with old teammates wantz and Søren "socN" Falke, as well as with two relatively less-known faces on the Danish scene.
The Imperial lineup is:
Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen
Bo "wantz" Vestergaard
Søren "socN" Falke
Kevin "KS" Svenningsen
Kasper "kaspeR" Tolbøl
In a statement on his return, FeTiSh spoke of the formation of this particular lineup:
"We are very proud to announce that we will be joining up with Imperial. A few of us worked with them back in the CSS days and had a great time with them. They recently started up their activities again just like us. We know that there's a ton of work in front of us if we want to be able to compete and we are looking forward to improve and grow as a team.
I wanted to build the lineup around a mixture of talent and experience, we have had quite a few names on the table as who should finish the roster as our fifth. We have played with KS as our fifth for the past 3 weeks and we are more than happy to continue with him!
As for the rest of the lineup goes, I've played for a number of years with wantz in css and for a short period in CSGO aswell. socN played with us at ESL one and if we could have we would have stayed with him back then. kaspeR is a friend of wantz's, hes really talented and shows a lot of prospect for the future."
