peacemaker joins Liquid as coach
Team Liquid have announced on their website that they have hired Luiz "peacemaker" Tadeu to coach their Counter-Strike team.
Tadeu had been considering his options after leaving Tempo Storm last week, with the Brazilian team having become one of the strongest teams competing in North America during his tenure.
While coaching Tempo Storm, he led the team to victory at the Gfinity Pro-League Season 9 Finals and to a runners-up finish at DreamHack Austin, causing his stock to rise considerably.
peacemaker to coach Liquid
After days of speculation about his future plans, Tadeu has now been confirmed as Liquid's new coach, replacing James "Jame^s" O'Connor, who stepped down from the role in April.
"The past few weeks has been a time of change for our CS:GO team," Liquid chief Victor "Nazgul" Goossens said in a statement.
"Despite the tumultuous happenings (s1mple, and parting ways with our coach James), our players continued to show up and perform (and possibly choke a bit I know, I know), competing and winning against some of the best rosters North America has to offer.
"We’ve been working to create the much needed calm that will allow us to build towards becoming the world class team we aspire to be.
"With Luis, we bring in a talented coach who has a wealth of strategical knowledge and guidance. Out of all the candidates we had for the coaching spot it was clear to us that Luis was the way to go.
"It is no secret we have been searching on how to optimize our IGL role, and we aim for Luis to take that spot on the team."
Liquid have set their sights on ELEAGUE, having been drawn alongside Luminosity, Cloud9 and Renegades in Group A, which will run from May 24-27.
