Starladder has announced that Born Of Fire have withdrawn from the SL I-League Invitational due to visa issues.

The Chinese team had been announced as TyLoo's replacement after the Asia Minor champions decided to skip the event in order to be able to apply for visas to enter the United States, where they will be competing in ELEAGUE at the end of the month.

However, LiKan "⁠ryk⁠" Luo's side have also been forced to withdraw from the tournament as a result of visa problems, leaving Starladder in a race against time to find a suitable replacement.

Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev's Worst Players, who were officially created at the start of the month, will be taking Born Of Fire's place in the double-elimination bracket, with their first match pitting them against Virtus.pro.

Taking place from May 19-22 at the Olimpiyskiy Football Stadium, in Kiev, the SL I-League Invitational will feature eight European teams and a $100,000 prize pool.

Dima is not playing for them anymore afaik. They should just stop inviting asian teams since they have visa problems 99% of the times. If they host in Asia though I'm fine with it.

It's mostly a problem for the lower tier teams though. NaVi always gets their visa shit done. For Russians probably even more difficult.

Well, it is no secret that "professional teams" often aren't professional and mess up their visa shit. Has happened 1930921039021 times in the past. Stop inviting those, then. It's not secret. It's always the same teams with problems. Either Asians going anywhere out of Asia or CIS teams mostly with NA.

Make sure they apply earlier? I don't see how this is professional. Should apply next day after qualifier. If that's still too late the qualification is flawed and there is not enough time. Also, if they're late with applying - disqualify them and ban them for some time.

Yea not your fault, they should've done that a long time ago, you can't just rush visas, these things are known to get delayed. Be prepared and mostly nothing goes wrong.

It's ridiculous. Can you imagine a soccer team entering the Champions League for the first time and waiting 2 days before the game to get their players all the needed visas? Nope, neither can I. Ukraine is actually probably the easiest European country for Chinese to visit, so as long as they got the application in early they had no problems. One other thing is that Chinese aren't used to international travel so don't know procedure.

I mean for some of them they literally may not have a passport or have applied for a visa before. Chinese people are very scared to do something themselves, they probably wanted to use an agent, but if these guys aren't professionals, or even if they are, they may not want to pay the 2000 RMB fee for using an agent. Also they may not want to pay to take the train to Beijing to apply at the embassy or something.
