HLTV.org spoke with Richard Lewis, a now happily retired journalist who is an advisor to Turner Sports and has been deeply involved in ELEAGUE's development, during the official media day for ELEAGUE.

Monday, May 23rd was a day for the media and for selling the ELEAGUE concept to many sorts of journalistic outlets in the Turner Broadcasting Studios.

Our day ended with an interview with the ever charismatic Richard Lewis, who talked about his retirement from esports journalism, his newfound job, and his thoughts about the potential of ELEAGUE.

Because CS:GO was goddamn awful in the beginning. However it was the community, not HLTV.org that did the "shitting". I was one of those, but I don't speak for Nomad, Nix0n, Pus, MIRAA or any of the other fine people who work/worked on the site. yes there is a twitch stream from pro7maxx but without preshow etc. i wanted to see the production not only the games.. thats what this league should be about. pro7maxx will show games on tv every wednesday 12pm (midnight) starting on 1st of june. rest of the days only on twitch without tv production (probably the wednesdays also without tv production). thats horseshit to be honest. the league itself is crap untill it reaches the playoff stage. as long as you dont have NA tv you wont be able to see preshow, analystdesk etc.. only game with caster voice

All that is on Twitch except Fridays TV Coverage is only Friday not every Day And Pro7 Maxx bought the rights to broadcast the game so i am sure there will be some kind of show AND there are enough Web services that offer watching TV Shows online

lol get gud at what? shooting head hitboxes/models that were 30% larger than 1.6? CSS didn't take much to get good which is why pretty much all the notable pros came back to 1.6 after CGS died.

but you do understand that those hitboxes were bigger for everyone = the game isn't easier it's just less elitist and more about hitting the first shot. shox played css, scream played css, olof played css, guardian played css, a lot of pros played css and a lot of pros played 1.6 the games were simply different and the old peeps were used to 1.6. (physics etc.)

Because people change and mature? Maybe also because almost all of the old petty childish arguments were started by the trolls on the hltv forums and the immature admins that used to run this place whilst 1.6 was dying and source was doing well (seems a really long time ago now). Also RL was a bitter angry prick most of the time back then too but fortunately he's grown up in the last 10 years in the scene and is now a good front representative for ESPORTS imo.

You may very well be right. I've just avoided RL the best I could since then, so I haven't noticed whether he has matured. I only noticed the shitstorm just about the time CGS died and the Source scene suffered, not when organizations left 1.6. You would see several topics on a heavily moderated Cadred.org about how HLTV.org was this "evil conterpart". He contributed heavily in the "1.6 vs Source" thing. He was really an utter prick back then. For someone who appreciated both the 1.6- and the Source scene, it was annoying as hell. I've seen him try to bash Nomad on Reddit recently, which is why I don't believe he has really changed much. He has rather had to change his image, since he had maintained a job where he was the center of attention. He has never been a bad journalist though, but I just can't respect him.
