LG secure top seed in ELEAGUE

Luminosity have secured the top seed in Group A of ELEAGUE after beating Cloud9 twice (16-7 on Dust2 and 16-10 on Train).

After Renegades beat Liquid 2-0 to heap more misery on the North American side, ELEAGUE resumed with a mouth-watering clash between Luminosity and Cloud9, two teams who had not yet tasted defeat in the tournament.

Cloud9 got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the game but ended up falling short against Luminosity's eco strategy in the third round. The Brazilians turned this round into a streak and eventually took the lead, but then Cloud9 restored parity at 3-3 after finding themselves with a one-man advantage early on as Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham picked up a kill from T spawn.

Luminosity cruised to a 6-0 score in the group

With Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo getting all-important AWP kills, Luminosity increased their advantage to 10-3 before Cloud9 picked up the final two rounds of the half to keep themselves in the game.

The Brazilian team piled more pressure on Cloud9 by winning the pistol round as Terrorist, with Fernando "fer" Alvarenga getting four kills to his name. After winning both eco rounds, Luminosity took two more rounds to reach match point. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip still gave Cloud9 a lifeline with some key AWP kills, but it would take long for the Brazilians to get their 16th round on the board.

Train began in the same manner as the first map, with Cloud9 winning the pistol round but being unable to fully capitalise on it as Luminosity hit back on a force buy. A highly-contested period then followed as rounds went back and forth, but then the North American side finally managed to put together a string of rounds and took a 5-3 lead.

The rest of the half was a one-sided affair, however, as Luminosity displayed some incredible offensive play to pick up seven rounds in a row and finish the half with a 10-5 lead.

Cloud9 got off to a great start on the offensive side, winning the opening five rounds to equalise the game. It was only then that Luminosity were able to adjust their defensive setup, and they shut Cloud9 down every time from then on, winning six rounds straight en route to a 16-10 finish.

Liquid have to win a BO3 against LG, they can't even get a BO1 so ez for LG, that is the advantage of top seed.
2016-05-25 23:15
of course they have, they get the advantage to play the low seed team in the semis
