Astralis 1-1 against SK, top group

Astralis go 5-1 in Group C of ELEAGUE to top their group after splitting maps with SK on the second day of the event (16-6 on Train for SK and 16-7 on Overpass for Astralis).

The second set of matches from the second day of Group C of ELEAGUE saw nine Danes and one Swede make battle as Astralis and SK squared off, with the former roster reinvigorated due to the late arrival of team captain Finn "karrigan" Andersen for the second day of the tournament.

The first map was Train and SK yet again kicked off another match-up at ELEAGUE with a 12-3 T half (they had done so against CLG on Nuke the day before), and it was 18-year-old Emil "Magisk" Reif who yet again shone for his team, putting aside past criticism of being an online only player.

Despite a weak Train against SK, Astralis reigned supreme in their group

Although Astralis made paltry attempts on their own T-side to get back into the match, it was SK who closed the map out with a convincing 16-6 victory. This loss meant that group favourites Astralis would no longer be able to go a commanding 6-0 in the seeding stage, belying the trend of Groups A and B.

The second map in the set was Overpass and SK seemed to be in cruise control at first as Andreas "MODDII" Fridh and his team won the CT pistolround and the first gunround of the map.

However, these rounds would end up being almost the only rounds for SK on the first half as karrigan and his team suddenly revived and began to accrue round-after-round on their T-side and ultimately finished the half with a 10-5 lead.

Despite also winning the second pistolround of the map, SK suddenly found themselves sent straight to the abattoir thanks to an Astralis Deagle buy and the Danish powerhouse used this momentum to close out the second map 16-7 in their favour and top the group with a 5-1 record.

Up next are the final two maps of the Group C seeding stage, which boil down to a battle for the group's second seed as NRG will look to win their two maps against SK in order to go 3-3 in the group.
