mouz secure first victory
mousesports are up 1 – 0 after beating Fluffy Gangsters on Dust2 in their first match at the ESL One Cologne 2016 Major Qualifier in Katowice.
MOUZ came into this match-up as clear favorites against the Russian team, and put their first round on the board by winning the terrorist pistol round. FLuffy Gangsters weren’t about to let the match slip away, however, and were able to win the second and put MOUZ on the back foot.
With 2 – 2 on the board FLuffy Gangsters started to show a bit more bite than could have been expected by winning the next four rounds. Timo "Spiidi" Richter and Johannes "nex" Maget were then able to win a 2 vs. 3 on B to get a third round on the board, but then lost the next round resetting their economy and therefore having to eco once again.
Trailing 8 – 3 MOUZ finally kicked it into gear winning the final four rounds to bring the score to a slightly more palatable 8 – 7 with a particularly strong final round by nex who was able to get four kills including a 1 vs. 2 after plant clutch.

MOUZ were then able to carry the momentum over, winning the pistol round and the following two rounds. Null element then went hard during the first buy round tallying three frags to his personal account using a UMP and giving his team the round.
MOUZ were able to get the score up to 9 – 14 in their favor, but after losing two rounds the German side decided to reset their game by taking a timeout ahead of an eco round. MOUZ got themselves on match point, but 3 late round AWP shots—including a 1 vs. 2 clutch—by Anatoliy "liTTle" Yashin kept the FLuffy Gangsters alive.
After winning an anti-eco and then successfully executing on A on the last round of regular time the Russian squad forced the game into overtime. The first half of overtime went MOUZ’ way, as the German team were able to win two out of the three rounds on the CT side.
MOUZ went on to win the next two rounds, bagging the match and assuring the first victory on their quest to qualify for the Major in Cologne next month.
