CS:GO update tweaks maps

A new CS:GO update has shipped, build version 1.35.3.6, and it features a large amount of map fixes, with the biggest changes being a new stairway down from Cobblestone's B platform and a ladder on B site of Nuke.

A new CS:GO update has officially gone live and its purpose seems mostly to fix a wide range of bugs and issues, mostly in a few of the competitive maps.

Outside of map changes, one interesting fix is that living enemy players will now be financially compensated for the suicide or disconnect of a player to make up for lost round-end income in killing that player.

As for map changes, a number of pixel peeks on Mirage on the A site have been notably eliminated and collision models have been tweaked on many bombsites to allow for more accurate collision detection.

Two very substantial map changes include a stairwell that leads from B platform on Cobblestone down into the bombsite and a ladder on the B site of Nuke to allow players to climb up and defuse a bomb planted on top of the silo.

The full changelog for the update can be found below:

[MISC]

  • Replaced the penalty for the suicide or disconnection of a player. Instead of the elimination of round-end income, a living enemy player now receives compensation equal to the missed kill reward opportunity.
  • On Valve official servers, the current map will be excluded from the vote options at the end of a match.
  • Modified behavior of mp_endmatch_votenextmap_keepcurrent (default 1). When set to 0, the current map will be excluded from the end of match map vote panel.
  • Full player hitboxes are now used by "cl_weapon_debug_show_accuracy 2" so that the circle appears closer to the target in 3D space.
  • Fixed coin journal not being accessible from inventory UI.

[OSX/LINUX]

  • Made it so "Fullscreen" sets an exclusive fullscreen mode and "Windowed Fullscreen" sets a non-exclusive fullscreen mode. Exclusive fullscreen mode allows for potentially higher performance while making switching back to the desktop slower.

[SPECTATING]

  • Added the concommand spec_player_by_accountid that switches observer target to the player with SteamID64 passed as argument.
  • Added the convar spec_lock_to_accountid which, when set, will lock the observer target to the specified SteamID64 player. The lock can be set regardless of whether or not the player is currently connected.

[MAPS]

Cobblestone

  • Added stairs up to B site platform, giving CTs additional options for defending the site
  • Updated trees with more accurate collision model
  • Fixed rendering error on wall hole model used near bombsite A
  • Fixed various bugs (Thanks csgobugtracker.com contributors!)
  • Improved visibility from underpass to A site

Mirage

  • Fixed pixelwalk in CT spawn
  • Fixed some small see-through gaps in bombsite A
  • Fixed small see-through gap from Short to Mid
  • Fixed grenade collision on van in bombsite B
  • Van now plays proper surface sounds when walking on it
  • Stairs in palace and B apartments will now play correct surface sounds
  • Fixed potential rendering error on wall hole model used in CT sniper position
  • Fixed various bugs (Thanks csgobugtracker.com contributors!)

Cache

  • Minor bug fixes

Nuke

  • Added ladder to bombsite B target
  • Top of bombsite B target now opaque
  • Added short crate stack to CT outside
  • Misc clip fixes

Collision model update

  • Added more accurate collision model for bombsite models used in Mirage, Inferno, Cache.
  • Added more accurate collision model for barrels used in Overpass B site.

No, one enemy player will get because they had no opportunity to kill you, but only if you disconnect while beeing alive/suicide. But i have no idea how they handle the "missed kill reward opportunity". If they set it to 300$, or even 600$/900 if the enemy team had a mp/shotgun in play

No, if you reconnect on the server while beeing dead, everything stays like before the update Only if you disconect while you were alive, one enemy player will get a compensation for not beeing able to get a kill on you (most likly 300$) Before this update, the player who reconnected while beeing alive, did not recieve any money at the end of the round

Probably you didn't get any, if you ask so. For example, the first one can cause freezes and lags that makes you unable to even move. Missing model files and vgui also cause high drops of performance.

The server browser is not only incredibly outdated and clunky but it also doesn't work as it should. There are many problems with it nobody seems to be working on. For example these: Why is it so hard to find online games in the "Internet" tab? From my experience, the tag system only works half of the time. For example if I want to find a pistol free for all deatmatch I cannot just search the name. I have to guess what tags might be included and even if I guess the right ones it only finds one third of the possible servers. Inconsistent refresh times, refreshing servers Another thing I don't understand. Let's say I have 20 servers saved in my favourites. The first time only 6 of them show up. I refresh. Now there are 14 of them. I refresh again, only 10 show up. I have to continue refreshing many times until all of my servers or the one I want to join appear. Another issue, why does it sometimes take ages to refresh the "Internet" tab and sometimes it is immediate? I don't understand why this is happening. Disappearing cursor bug This has been one of the most annoying bugs I have ever encountered in CS and it has been there since I bought it on launch. The only thing that fixes it is restarting CS which is annoying and takes some time. (No, I do not have an SSD because I can't spend thousands hundreds of dollars on my PC). Other small things Why do you have to refresh after adding a server? Why won't the server you add automaticly save itself? (If the game crashes it will disappear) What is the deal with all servers sometimes disappearing when you don't play for a long time? How limited is the "History" tab and why can't we adjust it? Anyways, this is what I have to say about the browser. Feel free to discuss and maybe bring up other things that are bad about the browser or add recommendations. This post had over 1400 upvotes which means yes, it is completely outdated.

3. Yes it does. You respond to what happens on your screen, 60 hrz monitor is a bottle neck. 5&6. 8 GB ram or not, your pc must be slowed down big time. Crashing with alt-tabbing is memory related.

As far as I know, the number of ticks tells you how many times the server checks on what happens in your game. Thanks to that, you miss much more shots than you should and also you have to be insanely skilled to bhop efficiently on 64 ticks servers. I am not talking about FPS and I don't think it has anything to do with it. EDIT: Alright, did my research, I'm an idiot. but that doesn't change the fact that there is a BIG reason to include 128 ticks

sure, tickrate =/= framerate. but your reaction is based on what comes through your screen, if you get your visual info in 60hrz, that is your hard limit. Framerate and monitor hrz are bottlenecks and Valve just looks at the hardware survey results, because it's all connected. Basically for 128 tick you want a monitor that is fast enough and you want very low pings or even lan conditions.

Also - The game crashes each time you fail (due to occupied slots etc.) to join a public server - you can't view the scoreboard until you switch resolution to other one and go back to the previous. You're right, man. There are tons of little and major things that requires fixing. This game is great, but it's also totally "unfriendly".

For anyone wondering I have insider information about when 128tick will be implemented. it is not this year though.
