Groups for ECS S1 finals released
The organisers of the Esports Championship Series (ECS) have released the groups and schedule for the season 1 finals, in London.
From June 24-26, the SSE Arena (previously known as Wembley Arena) will stage the offline finals of the first iteration of ECS, featuring the top four teams from the European and the North American divisions.
The exact prize pool for the tournament has not yet been revealed, but it is known that ECS will pay out $3.5 million over two seasons, with this figure also including travel support.
Luminosity will play the opening match at The SSE Arena
The ECS finals will begin with a double-elimination group stage, with the elimination and the decider matches being played in a best-of-three format. The top two teams from both groups will move on to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.
