mousesports & FaZe to Major

mousesports and FaZe are the first two teams to qualify for ESL One Cologne from the event in Katowice after defeating G2 and Gambit, respectively.

Many had high expectations for the match between G2 and mousesports, two teams who have been in great form lately, but it turned out to be a complete blowout as the Germans were in control from the get-go and never let their opponents get a foot in the door.

Powered by an incredible performance from Denis "denis" Howell, mousesports got off to a dream start as their defense could not be breached by the Frenchmen. No matter what G2 did, the result was the same, prompting Richard "shox" Papillon to call a timeout at 0-9.

mousesports through to the Major in convincing fashion

It would take G2 four more rounds before they finally managed to get on the scoreboard, but then they failed to build on that win, allowing mousesports to close out the half with a comfortable 14-1 lead.

Things went from bad to worse for G2 as they dropped the pistol round on the CT side, with mousesports following it up with an anti-eco round to lock down the map 16-1 and seal passage to ESL One Cologne.

The last match of the day saw FaZe and Gambit go head-to-head for a spot at the $1 Million Major. After a hectic period in which the teams traded rounds, FaZe took control of the game and stormed to a 4-1 lead. But Gambit labored hard to prevent their opponents from running away with the lead and even managed to get ahead on the scoreboard before the end of the half.

After the break, Gambit picked up a few more rounds after a flawless pistol setup, but then FaZe hit back in gun play, fuelled by insane back-to-back clutches from Ricardo "fox" Pacheco.

fox pulled off two insane clutches as Terrorist

Gambit called a timeout to adjust their offense, but a solitary round was all they could manage going forward as FaZe secured a 16-11 win to book their spot at ESL One Cologne.

Yea i guess he finally got serious about playing again. Hopefully Spiidi does as well then this MouZ lineup could rival Cyxs lineup in how many events they could win. Also if Nex and ChrisJ became consistent.

Although I bet on Gambit, I'm rooting for FaZe, so I'm glad they won it. G2 is sad to watch, they failed in every important match - first vs LG, then vs NiP, and now even vs mousesports...
2016-06-11 22:07

That is quite bs tbh. Firstly nobody ever expected G2 to beat LG, secondly with NiP yeah was quite weird after they beat them two days ago with 2-0 with a Shoxxie show on Dust 2 and thirdly they haven't lost anything vs Mouse yet they have 2 chances, but today somehow everything went horribly bad and No idea how. Something is wrong if you get wrecked by Denis tbh... I guess G2 should started as CT first to gain momentum,

Man, if you regard G2 as a tier2 team - then they're really good! I mean, pushing LG to the limit, winning vs NiP, dignitas is good for a tier2 team. But I'm talking about G2 as an overhyped team that was called a tier1 team by the majority of HLTV users. And it sucks for a tier1 team to be that hopeless vs NiP in the group final and to lose 1-16 to fucking mousesports. That's what I'm talking about.

LG, NiP, Fnatic, VP, Astralis, G2, EnVy and Mouse! Those are the top 8 teams so they are a T1 team. Something went obviously wrong in those Matches and tbh I would really understand what. They didn't hit actually anything and that included that Mouse outplayed them on The CT Side, as NiP in ELEAGUE. Mistakes happen and They will comeback stronger guess, btw that match vs Mouse reminded me to the their lose vs VP at MLG 16-1 on Train^^

For me a tier1 team should be able to defeat the others to win a tournament or at least to challenge a team that is regarded as a favourite, and for sure a tier1 team shouldn't lose hopelessly to anyone. G2 might be regarded as a tier1 team after 2-3 vs LG (I don't mention defeating fnatic cuz fnatic without olofm is like Na`Vi without GuardiaN) and after their 18 points in the group at ELEAGUE, if they didn't fail vs NiP in the grand final of their ELEAGUE group, and ofc if they didn't lose 1-16 to mousesports! I do want G2 to become a tier1 team that's able to get to the finals and to challenge LG and fnatic, but for now G2 hasn't done enough to be regarded as a tier1 team.
