OpTic beat HR; to Cologne Major

OpTic Gaming are through to the ESL One Cologne Major after defeating HellRaisers 16-14 on Cache.

The match began with HellRaisers sucessfully retaking the B bombsite in the pistol round, with Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný picking up his first three frags. The European mixture went on to add the following two rounds to increase their advantage to 3-0, but when OpTic finally bought up they picked up a series of rounds to bring the deficit to a minimum.

HellRaisers then upped the pace and won six rounds in a row to take a commanding 10-3 lead before OpTic won the final two rounds of the half to keep themselves in the game, which was starting to look like a foregone conclusion.

OpTic secure Major spot

OpTic came out from the break with a fresh attitude and mindset, and they kept their defense tightened up rather well, never allowing HellRaisers to build on the few round wins that they managed to edge out.

Down 12-14, HellRaisers called a timeout to adjust their offense, but with almost no money in the bank they let OpTic reach match point. HellRaisers still tried to mount a last-gasp comeback and force overtime, but OpTic held on and ended the game in the last round of regulation.

Whoever scouted for optic did a great job, i think it was daps but, im glad he picked mixwell over another NA pro with no hunger to win.

You are correct, it was daps who scouted mixwell. The best part is that the team gets a gaming house soon, so i see them getting even better.

Is mixwell the first spanish player to play in a major? It's nice to see a great player given a chance; he wasn't going far in eu but in NA he becomes a god and is finding sucess.

He has better team mates now. Therefore he performs better; cus he gets better support. I'm not saying he was bad in the eu scene; but that he's even better now that he's in optic.

I swear to god like Mixwell is always the #2 fragger of the games always behind someone different on each game. The consistency tho. Nice. gz

Expected. There is always that guy everywhere. When I actually said ''always'' I meant when personally I check some of their games I always see the same scenario. I just didn't put it well on my comment.
