Pimp signs for Liquid - Official
Liquid have confirmed the addition of Jacob "Pimp" Winneche to their roster.
A mere two days ago, ESPN's Jacob Wolf reported on Liquid setting their sights on Jacob "Pimp" Winneche, who would become the permanent replacement for Eric "adreN" Hoag, who was relieved of his duties in early June.
Both the addition of Josh "jdm64" Marzano instead of Kenneth "koosta" Suen and now Pimp, who will take adreN's place in the team, have been confirmed by the North American organization.
Pimp officially joins Liquid
For the time being, Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev will act as a stand-in, as previously announced, and play ECS Season 1 Finals (June 24-26) and ESL One Cologne (July 5-10), the latter of which the new addition cannot attend due to participating in the European Minor with SK.
After being contacted by HLTV.org, Liquid confirmed that the squad will start practising with Pimp shortly after the major.
"You don't get presented an opportunity like this very often in your life, so I had no doubt when Liquid reached out to hear if I was ready to help them and myself take a step forward in our careers." Winneche said in a statement on Liquid's website.
"I have great confidence that the roster we have assembled is one that can compete with the very best out there, just as I have confidence in myself finding the form I once had during my times with Western Wolves and Dignitas.
Liquid now have:
Spencer "Hiko" Martin
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
Nick "nitr0" Cannella
Josh "jdm64" Marzano
Jacob "Pimp" Winneche
Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev (stand-in)
Luís "peacemaker" Tadeu (coach)
